MIDI SYSTEMS VS HI-FI SEPARATES

Whilst we accept mini systems may be suitable for children's bedrooms, very small spaces etc., for quality of sound we really do recommend separates and we're not the only ones. Comparing midi systems to separates, What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine said, "Separates are clearly the best buy, and by a large margin… The sound of carefully chosen separates is simply of a superior order."

If it's your first time buying real hi-fi, the arguments go like this:
Compared to hi-fi separates, minis sound terrible £ for £, are totally inflexible, hold their value badly and if anything goes wrong with them you are left totally without music. Oh, and yes, if you want to upgrade you'll need a hacksaw!
