An introduction to the Nottingham store and its staff

A big "Hello!" from the staff at Richer Sounds Nottingham!

We've got a lovely looking shop, with all the latest technological gubbins on show, as well as a stonking display of plasma and LCD flat-screen goodness. We know our HDTV from our HDD, our recorders from our record decks and our PVRs from our Price Beats, so we are THE people in Nottingham (not to mention the surrounding area, even the shire as a whole!) to come and see for a bit of friendly advice on all things home entertainment-wise or even just a coffee and some change for the meter (not something you can get off the internet that, is it?). In fact, we're so nice that if you're coming to see us we'll even pay for your parking in the bays opposite the shop, and we guarantee we'll give you the best deal possible on anything from our massive range of bargains.

We love big TVs at this branch. We try to have all the latest models out on display at any one time, but we've only got so much room, and if you don't see what you're after simply ask one of our friendly, helpful, good looking sales assistants who'll be more than happy to fetch whatever your heart desires from our stockroom! If you're unsure what will look best in your home, why not ask for one of our knowledgeable staff to visit you? We can help you with size, placement, cables, surround sound systems and any other aspect of your purchase you require. Finally, we'll prepare a no obligation at home quote for you and the best thing about the service is it's free! This service is not just limited to TV sales, and can encompass anything you like all the way up to full multi-room audio and video distribution systems.

We're cunningly located on Mansfield Road just outside the city centre, opposite the wonderful Golden Fleece pub, next to the Inland Revenue building and five minutes walk from the Victoria Centre. If you're in the car, there's parking just down the side street next to the shop on a pay and display basis, just ask and we'll give you some change for the meter. If you're shopping around, call us last, and we'll give you a better deal than anybody else, and if you're unsure about setting up your purchase, why not ask about our installation service?

What we're trying to say is, when you get down to the crux of it, come and see us here at Richer Sounds Nottingham, because you won't get a better deal, or better service ANYWHERE else, we mean it!

STORE STAFF

Vince, Store Manager
We originally borrowed The Artist Formerly Known As Vince over Xmas and we decided that we like him so much we're keeping him, whether he likes it or not. If you can find him when he's not zipping around the shop like a whirling dervish leaving a wake of improvements imported from his previous Sheffield home, you can expect something really special from our Vincey Wincey Spider, who's an expert on everything sold at a branch of Richer Sounds since he's been with us. Be it TV, hi-fi or home cinema, he knows it inside and out! He especially likes cables. A bit too much we suspect. Just ask him about why you should bi-wire your speakers and you’ll see what we mean. He's a fan of all sports known to man; a good game of bowls is enough to get him shouting at his (massive plasma) TV! In his spare time Vince Pie enjoys playing 5 a side football, drinking scrumpy, and driving too fast.

Rob, Deputy Manager
After years of working for the opposition (boo! hiss!) in his native East Anglia (he's also been a white van man and sold just about everything we can imagine for a living in the past) Rob finally saw the light, loaded up his little car and left to seek fame and fortune amongst the bright lights of Nottingham. After a few months as a superstar club promoter and legendary DJ, he tired of the limelight and eventually found solace with us charitable souls here at Richer Sounds, when we recognised his immense knowledge of all things hi-fi, home cinema and flatscreen related. He's truly passionate about his dance music, owns every dance record released from 1989 to 1996 and has been to Ibiza every year he can remember. He hates heavy metal, which can lead to amusing exchanges with the store's resident headbangers, Woody and Paul, about what radio station to put on during the day! He's also the world's biggest Mini Metro fan, and owns several dozen in various states of repair!

Andy, Junior Sales Assistant  
Friendly Andy is our youngest member of staff but despite his youthful good looks, Andy's really wise in the ways of Richer and can deal with any enquiry thrown at him. One at a time though, please. As well as being very, very helpful and generally a really nice guy and all round top bloke, Andy is a trained sound engineer who can build a sound system from scratch that'll literally blow your socks off. He can be seen on various flyers for several break-dancing events around the local area, an interest he shares with Sam. In the summer we're going to get some lino out in front of the shop and have them battle! Andy's also the only member of staff at the branch to have his own fan club, who regularly visit him at work. Application details can be found on his website. He owns the official "most eclectic iPod ever" and will sort out anything you need during your visit, you only have to ask.

Alex, Trainee
What’s that noise? Is it an overenthusiastic power tool user? Is it a wasp, trapped in a tin can? Is it that cursed ringtone with that infuriating blue thing some people inexplicably found amusing a few years ago? NO! It's Alex on his scootay! Fresh from the pub (he used to help run one,) years of standing around being nice to people have prepared him for the rigours of life here at Richer Sounds. As friendly as is humanly possible, Alex was a longstanding customer of ours so of course, he knows what he's talking about. Despite being a wonderful human being, Alex is the target of much envy from his colleagues due to his recent three week jaunt to a tropical paradise. Come talk to Alex, if only to see his suntan!

Adam, Trainee
Like most at this shop, Adam is very new. However, he already has a honed knack for excellent customer service and an enviable knowledge of all things audio and video recording. So he's slipped in very easily with the Richer way. Be sure to ask him about hi-fi and DVD recorders.

Chris, Trainee
Chris has just joined us from a career in being a roadie. So if you need your system to play to 100,000 people then he's your man. He already has a wealth of retail experience so he'll be sure to find the right product for you!

Sam, Stockroom Controller  
Whenever something needs fetching, carrying, fixing or painting, floppy fringed Samwise is the man for the job. When not hard at work tidying the stockrooms he can be found listening to either soul legend Sam Cooke or some heavy, heavy dubstep. When prodded with sharp objects, Sam can be made to breakdance, his favourite move being the death defying “reverse threading the needle” or perhaps you’ll be treated to his extremely convincing robot impression. Sam’s also a formidable artist with several comic strips under his belt; he’s very handy with an aerosol can and is forever leaving little doodles around the shop.
