BIG SCREEN PLASMA 3D THRILLS FOR LESS

For many, a plasma TV still takes some beating. Certainly, in terms of screen response, a plasma TV is still faster to respond than LCD/LED technology. If you're going to be using the TV for gaming then it's this extra fast response that can make all the difference. Then there's the 3D aspect to consider. Using active shutter technology, 3D images are stable, bold and, with a screen of this size, come right out into the room for an immersive viewing experience! You'll also find amazing depth of image that ordinary 2D TV can't hope to compete with.

With its 51 inch screen, the Samsung is 9 - 11 inches larger than many of its similarly priced LCD competitors! Because it's a plasma screen you'll also enjoy an intensely realistic picture quality. With its HD Ready screen, the PS51D495 makes the perfect match for SKY 3D and other HD TV tuner boxes, too. This high level of detail is matched by smooth motion. Thanks to 600Hz Subfield Motion, fast moving images are smoothly scanned for reduced blur. This not only works well with action movies but is a blessing for watching fast moving sports events, too. Samsung's Wide Colour Enhancer Plus engine is also included. This unique Samsung system is driven by Samsung's HyperReal picture Engine and offers far more natural and convincing colours by strengthening the red, green and blues.

CLEAR SOUND

Although we'd recommend a separate soundbar, hi-fi or AV system for the sound, the onboard sound is better than the class average. SRS TheatreSound gives a well-balanced sound that's surprisingly weighty for a TV but also clear, too. With a 2 x 10 Watt amplifier on board there's also enough power for larger rooms.

FREEVIEW HD ON BOARD

The Samsung PS51D495 is fully equipped for the HD TV age with a Freeview HD tuner onboard. Fast spreading around the country, this gives you access to High Definition channels that are free to air via Freeview HD - no subscription costs necessary!

ENOUGH CONNECTIONS TO BE AT THE HEART OF YOUR AV

When it comes to connections, the PS51D495 has everything you'd expect from a large TV. Connect Movie Share teams up with the USB socket to offer video, music or photos to be easily transferred from your digital media device to the TV's screen. In addition to the USB socket there're also three HDMI sockets (fully 3D compatible, of course) - perfect for adding a range of HD sources. There's also a PC input which, when combined with the Game Mode setting, makes the PS51D495 the ideal large screen gaming monitor. Add to this SCART, component and headphone sockets and you have a well equipped TV.

With its large screen, 3D tech, Freeview HD and typical Samsung quality, what more could you want at this price!
