Rated 5 out of 5 by GhostieEm Fantastic entry level amp
We bought this amp to start off our seperates system. The main atraction was the price - there is nothing else out there that comes close to the same quality for the cost. There aren't many features and this could be a bit of a negative but what it does, it does well. Paired with some good quality mid-range speakers and CD player it sounds fantastic. I don't see anyone doing better for the money!

This is great value for the money. I'm just starting over again after 50 years and it's a great way to start.

Well - what can I say: brilliant service and an outstanding delivery service. The equipment is very good supported by a factual website.

I needed a new amplifier after my venerable old NAD conked out. This does the job, allowing me to play cds and vinyl (although only because I have a turntable that plugs into the aux socket - no phono).
No headphone socket either, but the sound is great.

An amplifier with no tone adjustment required because it provides a solid mid range sound losing no detail. It accepts many forms of connection to suit all equipment. It provides a slim clean fascia with the easiest style of controls to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steve001 LOUD HUM
the first unit I bought had a loud electrical hum when powered up and was very noticeable between tracks.contacted customer service and they arranged a replacement which I have picked up today(27/04/15).this unit has the same problem which is a shame as I really like the sound from this amp.i know this is a budget amp but this is not what I expect from a Cambridge Audio product.I must add the service from the staff at the shop and customer service has been excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GWS78 Topaz AM1 as a Keyboard Amplifier
Delivered on time and working well.
I'm using it to amplify my Yamaha keyboard, which has only a 2.5W amplifier, and needed the volume to be turned up past half way to hear anything much.
Now I only need to turn it a quarter up, and the Cambridge AM1 to about ten-o-clock, to get really good sound from my 10 inch speakers.
You can hear realistic sound from the low notes of the grand piano voice, which were barely audible with the keyboard amplifier alone.
A very satisfactory project ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by RogerT A bargain Hi Fi amp
This amp does the basics very well. It does not have many connections or features/controls, however the frankly very small sum has been well spent on delivering very good sound. Now it does not compare performance-wise to my main system's amp set-up (a pre and 2 power amp combo), but at one fiftieth of the cost I can't really complain!
And top marks for Richer Sound's service and delivery company too!
