Rated 5 out of 5áby Fatmarley Incredible value for money
Bought this because I blew a channel on my Onix OA21 and needed a quick and cheap replacement. I was surprised at how clean and punchy this thing sounds. Vocals are crystal clear and project well into the room.
If this amps anything to go by, the hi-end Cambridge amps must sound incredible.

I bought this to replace my ageing Arcam 5 which always impressed. The AM1 slotted in nicely except for the lack of banana plug connection to the binding posts. Straight out of the box, it spoke to me, lovely warm bottom end on "Long Distance Love" by little Feat, crisp delivery on "Ruby Baby" by Donald Fagen, and a superb rendering of Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, which did all the right things. Voice quality on FM via a Denon TU260 was also brilliant.
I used it with Royd Elans and a Macbook pro on spotify and CDs, I am not a hifi purist, but if you just want quality sound without frills, this is a great buy, I couldn't find anything better second-hand at this price!

This amplifier is fantastic it sounds phenomenal with mi Diamond 9.0's and the aesthetics are great to. even plugged into my mac mini the sounds feel like they were from a super expensive amp.
the only thing that would be nice is a remote but to be fair that's included with the next model up

Rated 5 out of 5áby Konzentr8 A genuine bargain
This amp in various incarnations has been around for 15 years or so. Having owned the A1 mk 3 model i was hoping that this latest version would perform as well as that did . First impression 's are of a very well built and good looking unit. I really like the simplicity of this model ,no tone controls just a input selector balance and volume control in a well matched system this is all thats needed. I linked the amp up to my vintage Philips 473 cd player ( 26 years old and sounds as good as the day it was purchased ) and a pair of Wharfdale Diamond 9.0 's. .Sound quality is nothing short of amazing for the money slightly warm with plenty of detail and attack excellent timing and although rated at 20 watts per channel with the volume set at around a third loud enough to upset my neighbours . If you're looking for a good sound on a tight budget buy this amp you wont find anything better without spending twice as much .

Arrived very quickly, well packed and - well - it just works. Replaced an old one I bought secondhand 30 years ago which cost me in pounds considerably more than this one. And this one sounds better - what a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 A great quality stereo amplifier for a very low price!
This stereo amplifier is the perfect alternative for a student on a budget! With my 1970 Wharfedale Linton Speakers, this amplifier picks up the most detailed sounds and emits little to no background him at all! The AM1 Topaz also has a simple user interface meaning anyone can use it with no hassle involved. Definitely worth the purchase if you want a quality hifi at a low price!

Rated 4 out of 5áby caveman38 One thing lacking
Tone controls would have been useful. But I could have opted for the next model up and paid the extra ú40. I decided for the budget version and in every other way this amp fulfils my needs.
