Product Information

The Harman Kardon AVR155 may not have the most channels, but when it comes to quality nothing compares at this price.

Using independent front and rear power supplies and high current components, the AVR155 offers punchy audio which sounds far more powerful than its rated figure suggests - Harman Kardon are very conservative when it comes to power ratings so don't be put off by this! Matched to the first rate amplification is a top quality Cirrus DSP (Digital Sound Processor) and 192Khz/24-bit output DACs. The upshot is, whether you're listening to music or watching films, the AVR155 gives you class-leading realism, dynamics and precision of sound.

In addition to the usual Dolby and DTS processors you'd expect the Harman Kardon AVR-155 also features Logic 7. Exclusive to Harman Kardon AV receivers, Logic 7 is an advanced surround sound mode that extracts the maximum surround information from either surround-encoded programs or conventional stereo material. It's a system widely used in their expensive car audio systems commonly found in top-of-the-range Range Rovers and BMWs.

In terms of connections, the baby HK Av receiver has everything you need. A trio of HDMI sockets matched to a monitor out let you use the receiver to switch between High Definition sources, even if your TV has just one input. A 5.1 channel input is ideal for adding a Blu-ray player, whilst a range of component, S-video and composite sockets take care of older sources. In terms of digital sockets the AVR155 is, once again, top of the class. With no fewer than three optical and three coaxial inputs the AVR155 will handle anything. Added to this is a coaxial digital output that's exceptionally rare at this level. Finally, if you enjoy listening through headphones, you'll appreciate the Dolby HP mode that gives a spacious "around the head" sound from you're surround sound films.

It might be a high performance AV receiver but the AVR155 isn't intimidating to use. A logical, onscreen display (missing from some rivals) combines with EzSet/EQ to make this a straight forward AV receiver to set-up and operate. Renowned for their crisp, clean styling, the AVR155 doesn't disappoint. Alongside the AVR155, most rivals appear fussy and dated looking. Given the price, it's also exceptionally well made and far heavier than the average £250 AV receiver.

The AVR155 may not be the best known of AV receivers, but in our opinion, it's one of the best kept secrets in its class. See for yourself at your local store today!
