"Very good rhythmically with solid images. " Hi-Fi Choice magazine.
The highly reviewed Pioneer PD-D9Mk2 SACD player follows on from the D6 with even better build quality and improved electronics for a more powerful sound.
Like other components in the Pioneer G-Clef range, the Pioneer PD-D9Mk2 SACD player combines the best brains from both Pioneer and AIR Studios to create one of the finest players in its class.
Designed to sound open, transparent and powerful the D9Mk2 is probably the most detailed and engaging sounding SACD player at its price. This sound quality has been carefully engineered with quality components and fine tuning at London's famous AIR Studios. At the heart of the PD-D6Mk2 is Pioneer's unique Legato link conversion system. This quadruples the sampling rate for a very smooth and natural sound that's quite unlike most other CD and SACD players. Twin Wolfson DACs and twin R-core power transformers provide excellent channel separation while a crystal oscillator reduces jitter for enhanced accuracy. With the PD-D9Mk2, Pioneer has substantially beefed up the construction quality over and above the PD-D6. Highlights include a rigid construction casing which helps boost the mass by 2.5 fold over the D6. Vibration resistance is greatly enhanced and the improvements spread right down to small details such as the quality phono sockets. A stainless steel CD draw further enhances the quality feel. In short, Pioneer have spared little in making this SACD player the ultimate in its class.
A new, aluminium faced remote control matches the quality of the main unit and will control a complete Pioneer system. The ability to play ultra-high quality SACDs (Super Audio Compact Disc) marks out the Pioneer from many of its rivals. SACD sounds even more natural and detailed with a smoothness of sound that finally matches analogue.
If you're after the very best that CD and SACD can offer at this price, then you need look no further than the capable Pioneer PD-D9Mk2.
