"This is a fine player for the money, and a worthy rival to the Award-winning Marantz." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.

Cambridge Audio's audiophile quality Azur range kicks off with the 351C and, it's plain to hear, this CD player is truly passionate about sound.

As you'd expect from the Cambridge Audio Azur range, the 351C has a class-leading technical spec. A Wolfson WM8728 DAC is coupled to a 2-pole Sallen-Key Butterworth filter. This complex sounding component is key to the 351C's warm, fluid performance and its measurable purity and detail. Furthermore, a highly accurate master clock oscillator and impedance-matched clock buffering schemes further contribute to the amount of data it is possible to extract from a CD. Like its 351A amplifier partner, the 351C also benefits from a superior toroidal transformer which offers much lower noise and waveform distortion than lower cost laminate transformers which are more commonplace amongst the competition.

Just as important as the DAC to a CD's sound quality is the transport. Cambridge Audio have careful selected a high quality mechanism for excellent mechanical performance. This is then coupled to Cambridge Audio's third generation proprietary S3 servo solution which dynamically adjusts the focussing, tracking and output level of the laser in real time. This in turn enables maximum retrieval of disc data, guarantees extremely low jitter and delivers amazingly dynamic sound.

It's not just the inside of the Cambridge Audio Azur 351C that impresses, it's the outside, too. The smooth, wrap-around casing doesn't just look good, it makes the player extremely rigid and resilient to mechanical interference. The thick aluminium front panel helps resist electrical interference from sources such as light dimmers and fluorescent bulbs.

If you're passionate about music then you'll appreciate the Azur 351C's passionate sound quality - it's certainly one of the best spinners in its class.

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product representing outstanding value. I needed a replacement for my old Technics CD player eventually purchasing the 351C. I have connected this unit to my classic NAD 3020A amp and they work well together playing my eclectic mix of music with consummate ease. The build quality is very good as is the smoothness of operation which leads me to conclude why most potential purchasers of CD Players would need to spend any more than this. The friendly sales assistant guided me towards this particular make and model without being remotely pushy, I'm glad I heeded his advice. 14 November 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classy CD player. Great value for money. I purchased the 351C to team with the 351A. The CD player delivers outstanding performance, classy design and the construction quality that is synonymous with Cambridge. The depth and range of the sound provides a very pleasing listening experience. Thanks to the staff at Richer Sounds Holborn for their expertise and for helping me make a well informed choice at a great price. 28 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent sound and ease of use Was looking for a new CD player as my Planet was beginning to skip with great regularity as it was over 11 years old. The 315 was incredibly easy to set up and sounds brilliant. Much louder than the Planet with greater clarity and no skipping. 10 December 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I can now enjoy my CD collection again! To save space I used my Blue Ray player to play my CDs hoping my home cinema system would give me results I was looking for, but sadly not. So I stopped playing my CDs. Couldn't justify high end gear so this unit was recommended by the guys at Richer Sounds and I am not disappointed. I am really enjoying the music even more now. I'm not a purist and have a standard lounge set up, and the quality is excellent. Don't know why you would want to spend more. Initially tried the CA Topaz CD10. This gives terrific sound quality and this is what whetted my appetite, but it creates a very annoying short gap at the end of each track, so upgraded to the Azur 351C. Now I'm a Happy Bunny. 21 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the price Needed a CD player when my old Sony kicked the bucket, was recommended this by the sales man at Richer Sounds. Brilliant does everything I thought it would, sounds great on my old system. 08 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best pleased with this Excellent, Bought to replace a pioneer pd10 that needed fixing every 3 months. Sound quality is a great improvement. Not a huge amount of features but sound makes up for it. Also no problems with reliability. Loads disks quickly and has a off switch rather than standbye 03 September 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant This was third time lucky. The sound is brilliant and unlike the cheaper model the cd drawer is silent and not clunky . Even my husband who is partially deaf notices the difference in the sound quality. All in all "what hi fi" is absolutely right to give it a 5 star rating. Once again the staff at Richer Sounds were brilliant. If you want a "no hassle professional service" I would recommend go to Richer Sounds. 15 August 2014
