"This is a fine player for the money, and a worthy rival to the Award-winning Marantz." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.

Cambridge Audio's audiophile quality Azur range kicks off with the 351C and, it's plain to hear, this CD player is truly passionate about sound.

SUPERB QUALITY DAC AND OTHER COMPONENTS

As you'd expect from the Cambridge Audio Azur range, the 351C has a class-leading technical spec. A Wolfson WM8728 DAC is coupled to a 2-pole Sallen-Key Butterworth filter. This complex sounding component is key to the 351C's warm, fluid performance and its measurable purity and detail. Furthermore, a highly accurate master clock oscillator and impedance-matched clock buffering schemes further contribute to the amount of data it is possible to extract from a CD. Like its 351A amplifier partner, the 351C also benefits from a superior toroidal transformer which offers much lower noise and waveform distortion than lower cost laminate transformers which are more commonplace amongst the competition.

UNIQUE S3 SERVO TECHNOLOGY

Just as important as the DAC to a CD's sound quality is the transport. Cambridge Audio have careful selected a high quality mechanism for excellent mechanical performance. This is then coupled to Cambridge Audio's third generation proprietary S3 servo solution which dynamically adjusts the focussing, tracking and output level of the laser in real time. This in turn enables maximum retrieval of disc data, guarantees extremely low jitter and delivers amazingly dynamic sound.

CLASS-LEADING CASEWORK QUALITY

It's not just the inside of the Cambridge Audio Azur 351C that impresses, it's the outside, too. The smooth, wrap-around casing doesn't just look good, it makes the player extremely rigid and resilient to mechanical interference. The thick aluminium front panel helps resist electrical interference from sources such as light dimmers and fluorescent bulbs.

If you're passionate about music then you'll appreciate the Azur 351C's passionate sound quality - it's certainly one of the best spinners in its class.

Rated 5 out of 5†by Great sound quality! Really pleased that I purchased this bit of kit, the sound quality is excellent and great value for money. 27 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by Brilliant This was third time lucky. The sound is brilliant and unlike the cheaper model the cd drawer is silent and not clunky . Even my husband who is partially deaf notices the difference in the sound quality. All in all "what hi fi" is absolutely right to give it a 5 star rating. Once again the staff at Richer Sounds were brilliant. If you want a "no hassle professional service" I would recommend go to Richer Sounds. 15 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by Excellent value and performance I'd previously bought a Cambridge Audio Topaz CD10 (see my earlier review) that had serious shortcomings, so I took that back and decided to upgrade to the Azur 351c. My previous CD player was an earlier Azur model, and I'd thought about getting this one originally and I wish that I had after trying the Topaz. However, this review is about the 351c which I am happy to state is an excellent performer and which provides a depth of sound quality that is streets ahead of what I had before. The loading is pretty quick and smooth and the actual playback is excellent, with a degree of warmth and depth that sounds as though it should cost a lot more. It has the excellent Cambridge build quality and solidity too, something that is always worth mentioning. I would recommend this unit without reservation to anyone who was looking to change CD players. 09 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by Great sounding CD player Great sounding CD player, hope it lasts longer than the NAD one I bought which broke soon after the guarantee period. 29 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5†by Great now have "Azur" amp & cd player Purchased to add to Azur 351a amp.Very Happy with sound produced playing cd. 01 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by good old Cambridge 351c Auditioning C. D players can be difficult up to £500. I decided in order to up grade I would consider a Naim CD for £1000....good but the Azur 351c packs a punch and I found it difficult to tell the difference and at £200 a bargain. Compared to the Marantz 6004..which is very good, I found the Marantz detailed but too open and cumbersome when things got tricky with the music. Cambridge are very good at bringing the music forward and in your face so to speak excellent stereo separation compared to the marantz. Excellent player and truly you could go on and on buying stuff but there is only so much your ears can hear. 17 January 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by High performance player Purchased this player together with the matching Azur 351A amplifier as I have had cambridge products before and always found them to be excellent, and the Azur 351C is no exception with rock solid build, and rich musical sound that gets every last inch of detail out of my CD's. One minor criticism is that the display is not very bright and as a result can be difficult to read at times, apart from that this is an excellent player and will take some beating at this price. 28 December 2013
