With free access to High Definition channels, the Sony SVRHDT500 is the perfect partner for your HD TV. In addition to free HD channels from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, this Sony HDTV HDD will still receive the usual standard Freeview TV and radio services, meaning you don't miss out on your existing channels: High Definition TV through your standard aerial for free!

In addition to receiving High Definition TV, the Freeview+ capability makes the Sony a highly adaptable recorder. Boasting an impressive 500GB hard drive you can record up to 300 hours of standard TV or 125 hours of HD TV. Twin tuners allow you to watch something different to what you're recording, record two channels at the same time, watch from the beginning of a program whilst it's still recording or record one channel whilst watching another recording. Other great features include the ability to pause and rewind live TV. As you'd expect, there's also an easy to use 8-day onscreen guide. In short, this is one flexible recorder!

In terms of picture quality, the Sony SVR-HDT500 has it all. With its HDMI socket upscaling to 1080p, you can get the very highest resolution from TV programmes - provided you have a Full 1080p TV.

Other connections include twin USB ports. These enable the Sony to playback media players' digital photos or music through the set-top box and connect an external hard drive for even greater recording flexibility.
