From the originators of flat screen TV comes one of our largest LED TVs to date - and the Sharp LC60LE636 is something very special!

If you've got a larger than average room or you simply want to be fully immersed in the picture, then the Sharp's 60 inch screen is simply unbeatable at this price. Yet, despite its large size, the big Sharp Aquos still offers impressive picture quality. At the heart of this 1080p HD Ready screen is edge LED backlighting. This not only makes the screen super-thin but also provides a brighter picture with greatly enhanced contrast. Realism of subtle colours such as flesh tones takes a great step forward and, whatever the resolution of the TV you're watching, the Sharp is one of the truest TVs in its class. Matching the intense realism is the ability to strongly resist blur and judder. 100Hz technology gives smoother motion and more body to pictures, especially when watching fast moving sports events. This is backed up by Sharp's exclusive film Dejudder system for smooth and seamless replay of movies. Taken together, the Sharp Aquos LC60LE636e gives one of the most natural, detailed and smoothest pictures in its class.

With a cinema-sized screen like this, you really need to get a separate AV system to provide the sound to match. Whilst the built-in audio will never live up to the picture it still provides a spacious and clear sound. A digital amplifier powers the 2 x 10 speaker system for a crisp, powerful sound. Giving a distinct advantage over rivals is the Virtual/Dolby Surround sound system. This provides a more spacious sound quality than other TVs - especially as the speakers are further apart than usual.

With Sharp's AQUOS NET +, the LC60LE636 has access to the best of the Internet via applications. It also offers the option of either wired or wireless connection to your home network hub. Other connections are every bit as comprehensive as you'd expect from a TV of this size. In addition to the four HDMI sockets this Sharp LED TV also comes with SCART, component and a PC input. There's also a 3 x USB interface that accepts video, photo and music data from your USB-equipped media player. Furthermore, as there is a two-way USB you can connect up a suitable hard drive system and use it as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) via the Electronic Program Guide. When connecting to your hi-fi or AV system, the Sharp will oblige with a comprehensive range of connections including an optical digital output, analogue audio and headphone outputs.

Although this is a monster sized TV, it's anything but when it comes to power consumption. This A+ rated device, on average, uses around 101 watts of power - which is less than many 32" sets still on sale today! A depth of just 72mm also reduces the bulk and makes the LC60LE636 surprisingly elegant for its size.

Monster size but without the price tag to match, the LC60LE636 turns TV into an occasion.
