"A system that manages to keep things simple and still knock your socks off is very special indeed." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.

Evolution rather than revolution has always been key to the progress of Denon's most popular mini system ever - and it's worked a treat, yet again, with the Denon DM39.

SMALL IN SIZE BUT BIG ON SOUND QUALITY

The key to the success of Denon mini systems has always been the balance of fine sound quality with compact good looks. Despite substantial changes to the circuitry, this is still the case with the DM39. As before, the DM39 features "simple & straight" circuits for the least distortion possible. The totally revised power supply places the transformer further away from the delicate pre-amp stages for lower levels of distortion and a purer sound. Triple noise reduction design with short signal paths, digital and analogue separation and precision earthing ensure that the Denon DM39 offers the clarity of sound you'd expect from Denon. Another sonic upgrade has come about by redesigning the CD mechanism. Designed to reduce vibration and sit lower in the chassis, it helps deliver a more accurate sound when playing CDs.

NOW FEATURING A DIGITAL INPUT

Whereas previous Denon DM3-Series systems featured a digital output, this is the first to come with a very handy optical digital input. Designed to allow TVs, Smart TV boxes or other devices with an optical digital output to run through the Denon, this feature adds greatly to the flexibility of the DM39. The front-mounted USB socket has also been revised. Not only is this now fully compatible with Apple iPhones and iPads it will also now charge iOS devices, even when in standby - making a charging dock unnecessary.

FULLY FEATURED RADIO

The Denon DM39 comes with an impressive sounding tuner radio that's comprehensively equipped. Featuring DAB+, DAB, FM (RDS) and AM, the tuner has almost every radio eventuality covered both for the present and, because of DAB+, for the future, too.

HANDY FEATURES

It may be small, but when it comes to connections, the Denon DM39 has everything you need. In addition to the USB and digital optical inputs, there's also a conventional RCA phono input at the back, letting you plug in up to three extra devices in total. There's also a very useful subwoofer output for an active bass unit.

Better sounding and more suitably equipped for the digital age, the Denon DM39 has raised the game. A better all-rounder at this price is hard to imagine.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Quality product I have had the Denon DM39 for a couple of months now and i must say thet it really is a top quality product. The sound quality is excelent and at ú169 its a bargin. 02 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good value....shame no written instructio book The unit works well and my cd's sound great.I was unable to use the cd manual as my iPad can't take them I wrote to Denon and they sent me a paper manual but I just don't seem able to set up presets on the tuner.Either the manual is unclear or perhaps it,s me but I have to go through each radio station in turn until I find the one that I want.. 10 November 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Performs well and replaces bulkier machines I'm really pleased with my Denon. It is easy to use and produces quality sound through my speakers. It makes such a pleasant change not to have to manually tune radio stations as I did with my old receiver. 24 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby this product has great sound and features Brought this product for a replacement hifi it sounds great has great features glad I purchased this product anyone who is thinking about buying one don't you wont find any thing in this price range better 22 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great sound but fussy tuning The sound is a good as I was led to expect but the need to use the remote to tune to digital stations is frustrating there being no easy way of just using the front panel controls to do this. 22 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby New Mini Hi Fi The Denon replaced a Teac of very similar size and spec. My wife had said the Teac lacked a little of the oomph it should have had. I connected up the Denon in exactly the same location and to the same speakers - some 37 year old medium sized Maudant Short's. I put one of my wife's favorite Chris Ria CD's in and called her to listen. She was very pleased with what she heard and said she could now feel the sound. I played a CD of Janis Ian's greatest hits for myself and thought it was like having the singer and musicians in the same room with me. It is a fabulous little system issuing a sound well beyond its size. 21 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Impressive performance & design, well-priced! Wanting a mini hi-fi to keep me company in my "home office", I opted for something more than a portable system, good though some are. I've a good-sized collection of CDs which I enjoy playing while I work/browse, and a healthy collection of pop/classical on a 16Gb memory stick, so it's easy to access something to suit my mood when necessary, and the design of this unit makes either CD or USB use simple. The DAB radio works extremely well from the simple aerial supplied, likewise FM, and station set-up is quite straightforward. Sound quality, on an "old" pair of Denon SC-M50 (from 2003) is top-class, glad I decided to hold on to them. Overall, a happy purchase, worth the relative extra I paid compared to similar models on the market. The CD-based manual is very comprehensive and easy to find what I want in there. Well done, Denon, thank you Richer Sounds - a very happy customer. 20 September 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Crystal clarity of music without costing the earth Got this home, wired it up to some Tannoy speakers, hoofed up the sound and then listened. More than enough power for my large(ish) room but the clarity and definition of sounds was really impressive considering the price of the unit. Excellent for the price. 15 September 2014
