1080p, DLP quality meets top value 3D with the Optoma HD300x.

THE OPTION OF 3D ON THE BIG SCREEN

We'd be the first to praise the virtues of a 3D TV: an involving viewing experience that draws you in to the image and provides genuine depth of field. As good as they may be, though, nothing beats a 3D projector; especially when the image can be up to 300" (7.64m) in size. Now that's truly immersive! The Optoma HD300X with optional 3D-RF system is just such a projector

ONE OF THE BEST OPTIONAL 3D SYSTEMS AVAILABLE

When used with the optional 3D-RF system and 3D glasses , the Optoma HD300X will let you enjoy 3D films in true cinema style. Yet Optoma hasn't just installed a standard 3D system and left it at that; the HD300X boasts some serious 3D technology, including a world first. Firstly, there's the PureD system. One of the disadvantages of using active 3D glasses is reduced brightness. PureD uses advanced image processing and dynamic bulb modes to provide a brighter, more realistic image - much more like the best 2D projectors. The world first from Optoma is the Wi-Fi RF glasses. Rather than using Infra-Red, the HD300X uses a Radio Frequency system. This not only reduces the chance of interference but also provides a higher contrast and brighter images. The 3D-RF glasses are also fully rechargeable.

PUREMOTION4 FOR THE SMOOTHEST MOTION

Whether 2D or 3D, the HD300x impresses with other aspects of its picture, too. The DLP technology from Texas Instruments maximises light output and has the added benefit of eliminating crosstalk from 3D images. Next-generation frame interpolation technology, known as PureMotion4 gives super smooth motion. 1080p resolution gives the HD300X superb detail - especially noticeable on larger screen sizes. Furthermore, the HD300X is fully compatible with 24p film speed, ensuring that films appear exactly as the director intended. Some of the HD300X's rivals still use the inferior LCD-type projectors and it's with the contrast ratio that this is most apparent. Using the preferred method of ANSI to measure the contrast ratio, the HD300X comes in with an extremely credible 400:1 rating - far better than many LCD competitors. The upshot of this is superior performance in terms of realism and noticeably improved clarity and depth in lighter conditions.

QUIET AND FLEXIBLE

When it comes to daily use, the HD300X is user friendly. A noise level of just 27dB makes it whisper quiet - literally. It also has a wide range of sockets. Twin HDMI sockets that are, of course, 3D compatible, let you connect up a couple of HD sources such as a Blu-ray player and games console. In addition to this there are also component, composite and PC inputs. Weighing just 4.5KG, the HD300X is lighter than many projectors, making it ideal for ceiling mounting.

For smooth, involving video with the option of stunning 3D, the Optoma HD300x takes some beating.
