At its heart, the VPLHW15 features three of Sony's 1920 x 1080 resolution SXRD panels. This unique array of three panels (red, green and blue) means that the SXRD technology can produce 6.2 million pixels and film-quality smoothness. With BRAVIA technology you can also expect excellent levels of realism, depth and an expansive colour palette. With a projector, the processor is only half the story. Just as important is the lens. In the Sony VPL-HW15's case this is just as impressive. The super-crisp ARC-F lens features advanced Iris 3 technology. This responds like the human eye, varying its aperture to suit different light levels. With the optimum contrast always obtainable the VPLHW15 boasts a superb contrast ratio of 60;000:1 - good enough to bring detail out of darker scenes and clarity of image in brighter rooms. Being a semi-professional projector that's just as happy in the most expensive of home cinemas, the VPL-HW15 comes with Selectable 7 gamma base line and Real Colour Processing that allows you or your installer to adjust the hue of a specific colour without changing the whole image.
If you plan to use this Sony projector as the centre of your video switching you'll be pleased to see a wide range of sockets. Twin HDMIs, composite, component and a VGA PC input are all provided. BRAVIA Sync lets you connect the VPL-HW15 up to other Sony BRAVIA products and enjoy the convenience of a single remote and one touch operation for certain functions. Another feature that makes it ideal in the home environment is the extremely low fan noise of just 22dB.
