"This Cambridge Audio soundbase ticks all the right boxes. It delivers a fantastic, exciting sound for a great budget price." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine. 5-star, grouptest winner.

A Soundbase is one of the simplest ways of upgrading your TV's sound. Unfortunately, although an improvement on your TV, not all sound bases offer great sound quality. Thanks to Cambridge Audio knowhow and Minx technology great sound is one aspect of the Minx TV that you can be sure of.

Using twin BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drive units, the Minx TV gives pinpoint accuracy and is bursting with detail right up to high volume levels. BMR technology combines the advantages of both flat panel and conventional speakers. This means that, unlike some soundbars and bases, the Minx TV is truly dynamic and won't turn harsh or brittle when the music or film action gets intense. For added bass power, a downwards firing subwoofer negates the need for a separate subwoofer in the room. The overall result is clean, punchy sound from TV, movies and music - just as you'd expect from masters of sound, Cambridge Audio.

In addition to making your TV sound great, the Minx TV also offers effortless Bluetooth music streaming. Simply pair your device and you can stream music from your smartphone, tablet or Bluetooth-equipped laptop or desktop computer. Stream your music library or use a music streaming service such as Spotify or and enjoy a massive range of music in Minx quality. As an added bonus, a selectable 'Music' EQ mode ensures the speaker is ideally 'voiced' to sound its best.

Using the Minx TV is easy. Simply connect your TV by optical digital, 3.5mm or RCA phono sockets and you're ready to go. These can also accept a second source, such as CD or DVD player. The simple remote control offers four EQ settings that are ideally tailored to match your listening source. It also commands quick pairing with your Bluetooth device, eight of which can be matched to the Sound base.

Experience the Minx effect on your TV and you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

Rated 4.5 out of 5áby 63 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5áby Nice piece of kit well worth the money. I got this at Christmas and thought I'd leave a review after using it for a while. This is a quality soundbase for the price you can't go wrong (mine was ú130 in Xmas sale). Would be nice to have HDMi but I guess that would impact on the price. Currently I have the TV on optical, ipod on 3.5mm jack and phono running my turntable. All I can say is the sound is superb if a bit high in the mid range for me. Playing the ipod and turntable I couldn't believe how loud it will go without any sign of struggle. If you have limited space and/or in my case a wife who isn't a fan of speakers and wires everywhere this should be your weapon of choice. Lastly this is a massive improvement over and standard tv speakers get one you won't be disappointed. 14 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Does what it says on the tin Exactly what we wanted. Plain but no nonsense design. Rubbish little remote but other wise recommended. 31 December 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby Good sound marred by poor features This unit is unobtrusive but not stylish. It produces good sound quality and is easy to set up. I have recommended this unit for the sound quality but for nothing else. The downsides are that it cannot be linked to your TV remote control so you must keep the remote available. This unit has the smallest, most flimsy and easily lost remote control unit I have ever seen. Only one blue tooth device can be connected at once. As with most of these type of units it is not possible to adjust the bass and treble. Returned this unit and exchanged for a Cambridge TV2 which is substantially better though it costs ú50 more. 30 December 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Bargain Best thing I have bought for a long time , Go out and buy one before they all go , best of luck but hurry. 19 December 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Subtle With less than perfect hearing I decided to see if changing the TV sound output would make a difference. Setting it up would have been easier if the optical cable had been a fraction longer. Bluntly, the manual/instructions is rubbish. It would be clever if the remote could put something on the TV screen in response to button presses but I guess that the optical interconnect can't do that. I would prefer it if the device was slightly smaller, it looks a little bulky, an inch less high would make all the difference. I can recommend using a universal remote - one button press turns on the TV, PVR and Linx TV, and turns everything off when I've finished. Super. Connected it up, configured the universal remote, and pressed the on button. Everything came on as expected. There is an improvement in the sound. I'd say it is subtle. I noticed straight away that I can hear tones that I wouldn't have heard before so on that basis I'd say it's a good bit of kit and worth having. 28 November 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good Sound, poor instructions, miserable little remote control When I finally got this sound bar to work, it produced quite a good sound quality markedly better than the original produced by the Television. I found that before the item worked I had to switch off the TV speakers and direct the sound to external speakers. Only then would the controls on the remote control work. Make sure you don't lose the remote control, if you do you will not be able to use the speaker. I don't know what a replacement remote would cost, or even I could obtain one and I hope I never have to find out. The instruction leaflet would benefit from one extra page advising users on how to use the product. That said the sound quality is quite good and the sub-woofer is quite impressive. Overall I like it. 17 November 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Easy set up Improved sound thru TV, has brought music from kindle fire to life via Bluetooth. Let down by poor quality remote. . 28 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Good alternative to a sound bar Will never replace a 5.1 system but if you need a sound boost with decent bass, then this is a good alternative to those ugly sound bars. 25 October 2014
