"This Cambridge Audio soundbase ticks all the right boxes. It delivers a fantastic, exciting sound for a great budget price." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine. 5-star, grouptest winner.

A Soundbase is one of the simplest ways of upgrading your TV's sound. Unfortunately, although an improvement on your TV, not all sound bases offer great sound quality. Thanks to Cambridge Audio knowhow and Minx technology great sound is one aspect of the Minx TV that you can be sure of.

Using twin BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) drive units, the Minx TV gives pinpoint accuracy and is bursting with detail right up to high volume levels. BMR technology combines the advantages of both flat panel and conventional speakers. This means that, unlike some soundbars and bases, the Minx TV is truly dynamic and won't turn harsh or brittle when the music or film action gets intense. For added bass power, a downwards firing subwoofer negates the need for a separate subwoofer in the room. The overall result is clean, punchy sound from TV, movies and music - just as you'd expect from masters of sound, Cambridge Audio.

In addition to making your TV sound great, the Minx TV also offers effortless Bluetooth music streaming. Simply pair your device and you can stream music from your smartphone, tablet or Bluetooth-equipped laptop or desktop computer. Stream your music library or use a music streaming service such as Spotify or and enjoy a massive range of music in Minx quality. As an added bonus, a selectable 'Music' EQ mode ensures the speaker is ideally 'voiced' to sound its best.

Using the Minx TV is easy. Simply connect your TV by optical digital, 3.5mm or RCA phono sockets and you're ready to go. These can also accept a second source, such as CD or DVD player. The simple remote control offers four EQ settings that are ideally tailored to match your listening source. It also commands quick pairing with your Bluetooth device, eight of which can be matched to the Sound base.

Experience the Minx effect on your TV and you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Great upgrade for a flat screen TV I bought this product having read the very positive reviews on What Hi-Fi and Trusted Reviews. The sound quality from our 3 year old Panasonic TV is pretty poor, particularly for voice. We didn't want a surround sound system and the sound bars we looked at seemed to dominate the TV and stand and often needed a separate sub-woofer. The soundbase is a terrific solution aesthetically (it is a matt black box that sits under the black TV on a black/silver TV stand) and sonically. Initially I was rather disappointed with the sound quality. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations given the 5 star reviews. Anyway after a week I have come to realise that we have never struggled to hear dialogue on the TV. We have a CD player connected to the soundbase and that sounds ok. Perhaps the best praise I can give this device is that we have forgotten it is there. The documentation is poor, bordering on non-existent. The remote control is small, also bordering on non-existent. 27 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Nice, cimplistic design Audio very good - but not as good as a top end hi-fi system. But excellent value at ú200. 20 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Dynamic sound improvement for flat screen viewing Surprising sound from this , gives a much needed boost to the audio experienced watching flat screen TV. After trying a few different sound bars, some worse than the original appliance speakers - this unit stood out as quite brilliant for its size. Care needed when moving as no physical protection for larger speaker on underside of unit. Good value, but cost quite high. 13 August 2014
Rated 1 out of 5áby the optical cable had an intermittant fault and on occasians the speaker to the base of the unit made an unusual reverberating drone I had to return the unit and purchased the yamaha 101 instead which worked well straight out of the box and its optical cable was correctly firm in its socket. If the Cambridge had worked ok I think it would have been a good product 11 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Superb! I confess that I did not buy this unit to sit under our TV to enhance the sound. The Bravia speakers are not audibly 'immense', but quite adequate for most TV (if only there was owt on worth watching?). No! - I bought these speakers to b/t from my phone and l/top when the Censorship committee are all out. The sound quality, 'separation' and power are simply phenomenal whether you are on b/t or TV. When I switched it on without warning the rooms other occupant, eldest son - deep into his iphone and a notoriously unappreciative oik when it comes to such things - actually raised his head (not just eyes?!) )& grinned in complete wonderment at the monstrous, yet clear bass with the simultaneous treble - seriously good. Add to that, the compactness of the unit - considering it's might - the little darling just sits there under the telly, rocking your audio socks off without any fuss or polava. What Hi-fi are right on the money! 09 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby so pleased we bought audio equipment from this company decades ago and it was great quality so we thought we would look into the same brand for our new adventure into upgraded TV equipment. It looks good, works well and was good value for money. So pleased we stuck with them and they kept their quality. 09 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Good value and works well. This product does exactly what it is supposed to do - provide very decent sound quality at an affordable price. It is easy to set up and, despite its size, sits relatively unobtrusively under even a 32 inch flat-screen TV. The only real criticism is the lack of individual bass and treble controls on the tiny remote and what seem like fairly large increments when adjusting volume. It is a real alternative to a sound bar, or even a low-end surround-sound system. 09 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby Much improved sound quality After only a few days of use, it is clear that the Cambridge Audio Minx makes a significant difference to sound quality on my Panasonic LCD TV, which is the top priority. The difference is particularly marked when listening to dialogue pitched at lower levels. I'm still not sure as to how much difference the other settings actually make e.g music, film. One obvious improvement would be for there to be a display on the front of the plinth to register settings - maybe this would have put the cost up. Overall, it is a very effective improvement to the sound quality of my T.V and any design quibbles can easily be lived with if it's doing the job ! 09 August 2014
