"This UK-only special improves on an already talented original. The attractive and versatile Debut SE3 is a fine buy." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.
For quite some time, now, the Pro-Ject Debut has been a near default choice in the budget turntable market - and for good reason. Rather than adding fancy automated mechanisms, Pro-Ject have always concentrated on giving the best engineering quality possible for the money. With the new Debut SE that quality engineering has just got better still.
THIS CLASSIC TURNTABLE IS NOW BETTER THAN EVER
Designed specifically for the UK market, the SE version of the Debut comes with a larger and more stable platter. This provides a more solid bass response with added weight. Improved motor dampening helps give better isolation. In terms of sound quality, isolating the motor means less background noise and a more dynamic and revealing sound.
ALL THE OTHER FACTORS THAT MADE THE ORGINAL DEBUT III SO COMPELLING ARE STILL PRESENT AND CORRECT
The rigid plinth with anti-vibration feet is ideal in providing a similarly taut sound quality. The motor itself is decoupled to further reduce vibration. Using a brass bearing housing and stainless steel axel, the platter hub is superbly engineered and built to close tolerances for fine sound and longevity. The Project 8.6s tonearm now features a one piece design for improved rigidity around the headshell area. What this means is that less detail is lost and more information can be heard.
IT'S NOT JUST THE SOUND THAT'S BETTER, THE STYLING HAS BEEN IMPROVED, TOO
With its new gloss black plinth, the Debut III SE looks far classier than before. Combined with its high quality engineering, this Pro-Ject turntable really does give the impression that it comes from the class above.
If it's quality vinyl playback you're after, without the gimmicks, then there's simply none better than the Pro-Ject Debut 3 SE.
