An extremely welcome yet unusual feature at this price is the decoupled motor. This reduces unwanted vibration and provides a quieter backdrop for the music. Of equally high engineering quality are the inverted main bearing with brass bearing housing, the MDF platter with felt mat and the gold-plated RCA phono sockets.

Just as impressive is the supplied tonearm. This s-shaped arm features a hardened stainless steel bearing, VTA adjustment and even silver-plated, high purity copper internal cable. In short, this is the sort of audiophile quality you'd expect from a turntable costing several times more.

Coming complete with an Ortofon OM3e cartridge, the RPM1 Genie 2 is pure genie-ous!
