With its 1080p Full HD resolution, the 42CS460 is the perfect TV to complement your HD sources such as PS3, Blu-ray player and Sky HD. LG have already built an excellent reputation for their picture and, with the 42CS460, it's not hard to see why. With its high contrast ratio, this screen gives deep blacks and true realism of depth. There's also smooth motion with a super-fast response time and a wide viewing angle to ensure that everyone in the room gets a good view of the action. With an Intelligent Sensor onboard, the 42CS460 will automatically control the brightness and colour settings, according to the lighting in the room. In short, whatever you're watching will be crisp and detailed with superb resolution and the ideal brightness.

CLEAR VOICE II AND INFINITE SURROUND FOR ENHANCED AUDIO QUALITY

As usual, we would always recommend using a separate home cinema system or soundbar with a TV of this size but if you do use the LG's built-in sound system you might be pleasantly surprised. Using an invisible speaker system with Clear Voice II the 42CS460 sounds crisp and precise. Furthermore, the Infinite Surround processor adds a spaciousness to the sound quality.

In terms of connections, the 42CS460 has all the basics covered. Twin HDMI sockets are on hand for a games console and Blu-ray player. In addition to this, the 42CS460 boasts SCART and component connections for your analogue sources. The side-mounted USB socket is extremely useful for plugging in digital media devices and playing back music and pictures on your TV. Furthermore, the USB socket also accepts the DivX HD format, meaning that you can playback High Definition video using the socket, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by good overall product I was lucky enough to win this tv in a contest with a national radio station, upon reciept of it i unpacked it and was a little disappointed at the size of it ie it was very chunky compared to some of todays newer models, however that is the only drawback as the pq is excellent on bluray and hd content, the sd a little less so but we as a family tend not too watch sd so the addition of bulit in freeview whilst good is something we wont be using. this is a tv for my 4 boys and will be used as a pc monitor games monoitor and a tv so it has more than enough connections to allow for this, a budget tv at a budget price but a great hd picture quality, and will hopefully keep my boys happy for years to come. 27 January 2013
