Packing in 3D TV and a comprehensive range of Smart TV functionality, the LG 47LA620V is a superb all-rounder.

CINEMA TV WITH 2D TO 3D CONVERSION

Cinema 3D TV is the popular passive 3D system from LG. It's simpler than the active system but, despite this, in many ways it's superior. For a start, passive 3D TV is considered more comfortable to watch with less flicker. Other technical advantages include a wider viewing angle and brighter images. Then there's the cost and convenience consideration to take into account. The glasses are much cheaper and also considerably lighter to wear. The lack of batteries onboard also means they don't have to be recharged. What's more, with 2D to 3D conversion, you can get the 3D experience with any program you care to watch - whether filmed in 3D or not!

EXCELLENT PICTURE QUALITY WITH LED AND 200HZ MCI PROCESSING

Whether you watch in 2D or 3D, the LG 47LA620V offers a top performance. The LED backlighting offers deeper blacks and greatly improved contrast over conventional LCD TVs. As well as the bright, detailed and natural picture quality, the LG 47LA620V offers smooth motion. Thanks to 200Hz MCI (Motion Clarity Index) processing, 3D images are sharper and 2D has less blur with fast moving action scenes.

OPTIONAL DUAL PLAY LETS YOU BOTH SEE THE WHOLE IMAGE

When used with optional pairs of special glasses (F310DP available separately), the Dual Play function lets you play a two-player game without having to split the screen! Special technology ensures each player sees only their part of the game on the entire screen.

CRISP SOUND QUALITY

Boosting the sound quality, you'll find LG's Virtual Surround Plus processing for a more enveloping sound quality to match the picture. There are also six other sound modes and three position modes for precise adjustment. LG's popular Clear Voice II is on hand to help out with "busy" and congested soundtracks where it can sometimes be tricky to make out dialogue. While it's certainly no match for a separate AV system, the onboard system is better than you might expect.

SMARTSHARE FOR THE SLICKEST MEDIA INTEGRATION

In terms of smart functionality, the LA620V range is one of the best. As you'd expect, there's a premium range of LG applications, including many popular video on demand apps, such as the BBC iPlayer. There's also a web browser plus DLNA certification to allow you to stream across your network from other devices, such as your PC or laptop. Yet, the LA620V goes further than this; much further. 2nd display let's you push content from your TV to a second compatible device, such as smartphone or tablet, meaning you'll never miss out on the action! Miracast lets you watch what's on your mobile or tablet, on the big screen - wirelessly. (Miracast requires a WiFi network and Miracast certified smartphone. Smartphone firmware update may be required). Alternatively, for the highest quality video, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) allows you to link up compatible smartphones or tablets and stream video via HDMI.

SMOOTH GOOD LOOKS

With its narrow bezel, the 620V range looks good when switched off but is unobtrusive when on. Also new for this model is a revised stand, with smoother, seamless good looks.

With smart good looks and even smarter tech, the LG 47LA620V is a powerful performer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great budget TV Bought this TV despite being willing to pay more, as I thought it was such a great deal and the spec looked acceptable, to be honest did not expect to be blown away. Once set up, which was easy and intuitive the TV delivered brilliant pictures, makes me wonder what you pay for in the more expensive TV's, and I have a reference grade home cinema room, this TV was bought for casual TV watching, but it is far better than that. Great picture, impressive 2D to 3 D conversion and acceptable sound for a flat screen. Greater connectivity would have been nice, but at this price can't complain, good looking set as well. Recommended. 27 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great easy big TV for my parents Took me about 10 minutes from unloading the car to having it working with my parents cable box and wireless internet connection, the smart features took a little longer because I let it do the software update first. Main problem I have is explaining that cable is not controlled by the TV remote and nor is the DVD player... despite that being true with their old TV as well. 21 December 2013
