Featuring Voice Control and a host of other exciting new technologies, the LG 47LM860V gives a glimpse of tomorrow's world, today.

CINEMA TV WITH 2D TO 3D CONVERSION

Cinema 3D TV is the popular passive 3D system from LG. It's simpler than the active system but, despite this, in many ways it's superior. For a start, passive 3D TV is considered more comfortable to watch with less flicker. Other technical advantages include a wider viewing angle and brighter images. Then there's the cost and convenience consideration to take into account. The glasses are much cheaper and also considerably lighter to wear. The lack of batteries onboard also means they don't have to be recharged. Ultimately, Active 3D remains the more technically advanced but if you've been put off by its lack of comfort or cost of glasses then the new Cinema 3D TV is for you. Of course, being passive doesn't in any way affect the immersive experience of 3D TV. You still get the vivid, projecting images and the reach in depth that appears to make the screen "disappear". What's more, with 2D to 3D conversion, you can get the 3D experience with any program you care to watch - whether filmed in 3D or not!

LED PLUS FOR SUPERIOR CONTRAST AND 800HZ MCI FOR SUPER-SHARP MOTION

Whether you watch in 2D or 3D, the LG 47LM860V offers an exceptional performance. The LED Plus backlight panel is able to dim unused parts of the screen for higher contrast. So precise is the result that the 47LM860V is able to offer deeper blacks than you'd believe from a LED TV. As well as the bright, detailed and natural picture quality, the LG 47LM860V offers some of the smoothest motion possible. Thanks to 800Hz MCI (Motion Clarity Index) processing, 3D images are sharper and 2D has far less blur with fast moving action scenes.

DUAL PLAY LETS YOU BOTH SEE THE WHOLE IMAGE

When used with the standard two pairs of special glasses, the new Dual Play function lets you play a two-player game without having to split the screen! Special technology ensures each player sees only their part of the game on the entire screen.

ENHANCED SOUND QUALITY

Boosting the sound quality, you'll find LG's unique Infinite Surround sound for a more enveloping sound quality to match the picture. There are also seven other sound modes and tone controls for precise adjustment. LG's popular Clear Voice II is on hand to help out with "busy" and congested soundtracks where it can sometimes be tricky to make out dialogue. While it's certainly no match for a separate AV system, the onboard system is better than you might expect.

A NEW WAY TO CONTROL YOUR TV

Magic Remote Voice allows you to enter search terms and other text and also access a host of other commands just using the power of speech. Simply talk into the remote control and let your TV do all the searching for you!

THE SMARTEST TV YET

At the heart of this TV is LG Smart TV. This combines many features and presents them in an attractive and easy to use way. The list of features is extensive but some of the highlights include an app store and on-board web browser. This makes it easy to catch up with popular services such as YouTube, Facebook or catch-up TV sensation, the BBC iPlayer. In addition to these easily accessible apps, you can also search out your favourite websites using the browser. Thanks to DLNA compatibility you can also stream music from your PC or network attached storage system. Smart TV also makes it possible to browse your choices whilst still keeping an eye on the current channel being displayed in the corner of the screen. As standard, the 47LM860V also includes wi-fi connectivity built-in - no more dongles, just seamless connectivity. For all the smart new tech, the 47LM860V hasn't forgotten about the more traditional sockets. Four HDMIs are partnered with triple USBs, SCART, component and RGB PC inputs for full compatibility with all your sources, new or old.

ULTRA-SLIM FRAME

With a new, super-slim frame, the 47LM860V gives you edge to edge viewing with hardly any frame to distract you.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Smart TV that is not so Smart I purchased this TV (47LM860V) just before the Olympics last year and since then facing following issues and also struggling with LG's poor customer service. #1 Severe performance issues.#2: 3D TV does not work as expected #3: LED Bleeding My suggestion is instead of buying a smart TV get a standard LED TV of any brand (LG is also a good option) and spend additional £100 for Apple TV (which is better than any integrated smart TV). 21 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stylish & Elegant, while Intelligent & Efficient This television has everything: style, picture quality, ease of use and features upon features. Can it be improved? Absolutely! But at this time, it is the best thing on the market. It is the first generation iPad of televisions, people just don't know it. Style is simple yet elegant and not too flashy, which is unmatched by other similar televisions in the industry. The picture quality is superb, even though it's been said that the picture quality of the LM960V is better due to the Nano LED technology, but unless the two were side by side, it's wouldn't be noticeable. The user interface is perhaps the best part about this television. Where other Smart TV's fail, this television excels. It seems quite daunting at first, but soon you'll realize that the wand remote is no different than a mouse for your computer and the home screen is simplified for everyone to understand, no different than a tablet. I was a little bit upset to find that I couldn't get certain features like Skype, but there were ways around this and it supported Adobe Flash which other alternatives couldn't do. I also found that the operating system would freeze and could only come back to life from turning the device off and on. Unfortunately, the price is slightly higher than the competition, but at least you know you are making a purchase that won't go out of style nor be far surpassed in intelligence any time soon. The pros surely outweigh the cons, which, hey, they are minor issues and every company has some. I'm just hoping and expecting LG to act on these and create a monster of a system that will dominate the market sometime in the near future. 08 January 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Stylish TV let down by Smart features Superb style. Great Picture. Impressive 3D rendering. But! Quite frequently stumbles over tasks and locks up requiring it to be turned off and on again. Live HD TV programmes stutter and blink every so often which looks like some kind of memory issue although those recorded independently on an external recorder play back without problem. Another small glitch is that the Magic remote sometimes refuses to hover over items in menu list. Final indignity is that it cannot run BBC iPlayer. So, this is a real blond bimbo of a television that is skin deep smart and lacks real ability. 18 December 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Issues with this product TV great but user guide is too simplistic. Why does the product always default back to AV1 as the source when the antenna was used last? Used to be able to receive the HD signal but now cannot. 18 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent picture quality superb tv the difference between this and my old LCD flatscreen is incredible 14 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great TV at a great price. Excellent picture. Good sound from speakers, which one would not expect from such a slim frame. Easy to set up. Great TV for the price. Generally as with most products you get what you pay for, but I think for the price there is a lot that this TV offers. 14 December 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The 47LM860V stands out from the crowd The 47 LM860V oozes style and quality even before switching it on... And then proceeds to deliver stunning performance combined with a great range of features. The smart control adds an extra level of convenience, ensuring that the TV's full capabilities are easy to enjoy. 14 December 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Looking Unit I wanted a smart tv and looked at many. After visiting a local electrical goods outlet I was influenced towards the LG brand as the 3D system was good and the glasses did not need batteries. This model can be confusing at first with the "Magic Remote", but once you are used to it you won't use the conventional remote 14 December 2012
