With a smart new style and enhanced connectivity, the Panasonic TXL42ET60B makes quite a statement.

PASSIVE 3D TV WITH 2D TO 3D CONVERSION

The Panasonic TXL42ET60 comes with Passive 3D TV. Although this doesn't give you quite as good resolution as Active 3D, it does offer some advantages. With the glasses being much simpler and not requiring batteries, they're also far cheaper. This means that Panasonic supply two, rather than the more usual zero pairs of 3D glasses. They're also lighter, more comfortable and less prone to flicker that can cause headaches. With 3D TV being this comfortable for the whole family to watch, you can make the most of the 2D to 3D conversion system that lets you watch any program in 3D!

LED PANEL WITH 600HZ BACK LIGHT SCANNING

Whether it's 2D or 3D you're watching, you'll not fail to be impressed by the quality of the Panasonic TX-L42ET60B screen. Panasonic LED backlit screens have quickly gained an excellent reputation for their true to life performance and the TXL42ET60B is no exception. Combined with fast processing is 600Hz backlight scanning system that helps deliver smooth motion - this is especially noticeable with fast moving sports events where the action stays focused throughout. Finally, the 'Brilliant' contrast ratio is just that with deep blacks, bright whites and vivid colours all combining to make the picture one of the most natural in its class.

IMPROVED SOUND

In addition to the improved picture quality, the TXL42ET60B also features audio enhancements over the lower Panasonic models. The VR-Audio sound processing system is matched by stereo speakers and a separate subwoofer. This not only gives a spacious, detailed sound but also a deeper, richer sound than lesser TVs. There is also an optical digital audio output; allowing you to easily improve the sound quality via a home cinema system.

SWIPE AND SHARE PLUS MY HOME SCREEN

New to this year's ET60 range is Swipe and Share and My Home Screen functionality. Swipe and share lets you use the Panasonic VIERA 2 app for smartphone media sharing. By using the app on your smartphone or tablet you can easily stream pictures, videos and music straight to the TV - no cables required! My home screen allows different users to personalise the home screen as they choose, for a bespoke user experience.

COMPREHENSIVE NETWORKING WITH BUILT-IN WI-FI

When it comes to connecting up, the TXL42ET60B is every bit as good as you'd expect from a Panasonic. Featuring a Freeview HD tuner, the TX-L42ET60B is ideal for making the most of High Definition TV. VIERA Connect brings together a host of features that make this much more than 'just' a TV. With the ET60B range you can stream video, photos and music from another source, such as your PC, via DLNA. Alternatively, use the Application-based browser to view shopping based functions, social media Apps and catch-up TV/film channels. As before, there's also a full web browser. As an added bonus, the new VIERA 2 app allows your smartphone or tablet controller to display a full keyboard. Use one of the two USB or the SD card inputs and enjoy music from many different file types via the dedicated media player. With such a comprehensive networking ability, it's good to see that the TXL42ET60B gives you the choice of connecting by either Ethernet or built-in wi-fi - no extra dongle required.

MORE STYLISH THAN BEFORE

With its new, Super Narrow Bezel and metal finishing, the Panasonic TXL42ET60B easily rivals more expensive TVs for style. The matching pedestal stand also swivels, ensuring you get the best viewing angle.

Fully equipped with 3D and Smart functionality, the Panasonic TXL42ET60B is fully prepared for your complete entertainment.

Rated 5 out of 5†by Fantastic picture After a false start with a Samsung which blurred every time there was movement, we returned it for this Panasonic. It is superb. The picture is crystal clear, even in SD and the colours are lovely. The silver trim was a little off-putting at first but now we don't notice it. It has various bells and whistles (such as 3D) but it was the quality of picture we were really looking for. It really is a pleasure to watch and I definitely recommend it. 17 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by Excellent tv and picture quality After reading various reviews about this particular tv we took the plunge and purchased from Richer Sounds York The staff could not have been any more helpful from the moment we entered the shop to advice and service given and also assistance in getting product to our car One reason for this particular set is the speed of picture whilst using 600hz it is just stunning and quality is so life like just such n easy set to view and set up. We did decide to get a sound bar to just enhance the sound for movies and alike the only major issue was trying to find the hidden menu so as to switch off the tv sound so only the sound bar was used via the tv remote but after looking on the web found the answer and all is now spot on only other problem experienced was when watching Netflix via tv through soundbar the power would switch off but after a call to Richer Sounds and then a phone call back all was resolved with excellent results again can't praise the staff enough 09 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5†by Excellent for the price, but not perfect I bought this as a replacement to a 3to4 year old Samsung 40" LCD. First impression, I was taken back as to how much more compact this unit is compared to the old even though the screen is 2" bigger. Very nice design and looks great in the living room. Initial setup was easy. The home screen was easy to setup using remote. Wireless setup was easy but I used an Ethernet cable connection. With all the 'out of the box' settings left in place, the picture quality is amazing! Monsters University and Dukes of Hazard were on Sky Movies HD and it was sooooooo silky smooth and made my old FullHD tv seem non-HD such is the detail that seems to have now appearred. I tried Despicable Me2 on BluRay #via PS3# and this again looked absolutely stunning! I did notice some slow down on the very fast moving scenes where the processor could not keep up #I guess# but I am overall very happy with my purchase. The only thing I don't like is the HDMI placements as they are all on the side. 28 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by Brilliant picture I had this tv for a month but swapped it for the 47" version when I thought the bezel was incorrectly fitted to the tv so upgraded when returning the product.* That aside, it's all about the picture and I actually think the 42" has is more impressive than the 47" version, feeling sharper and more detailed. Both have fantastic HD representation and SD broadcast, is more often than not, very good. Colours are natural and contrast is very good. You can view it clearly from virtually all angles. 3D feature works well and set-up worked well using a Yamaha soundbar. Great TV *The bezel apparently wasn't faulty as all these styles of Panasonic do not attach the bezel to the screen so you get small gaps between the two at the edges. 10 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5†by best TV i've ever purchased ..... purchased at the beginning of December and I am amazed at the picture quality .. fantastic ... this has been by far to best TV we've ever bought .... the set up was flawless, and the 5 year guarantee is an added bonus. 23 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5†by Can I Give this TV 6 out of 5?! After a week of living with the Panasonic TXL 42ET60B I have to say that I am totally delighted by it. From the moment I unboxed the TX42ET60B everything was a breeze. The TV stand/mount was a cinch to put together & fix to the main set. The fixing of leads for the Sky+ HD box & my Panasonic home cinema was simplicity itself. The TV then auto tuned the Freeview channels & I then took the option to connect the TV to my home broadband network. I popped in the code on the router & the TV connected itself instantly via its' built-in Wi-Fi. The TV picture is outstanding! Bright, rich, vivid, defined, clear, bold & most importantly of all, totally natural. This is a Smart TV & I found it very intuitive on how to configure my own Homepage. I added the apps that I was interested in easily.Being new to 3D I was very impressed with the image quality. Films look amazing & the supplied glasses are comfy.Connecting Home cinema via Viera Link was also simple. For under £600 this is a steal! 26 November 2013
Rated 5 out of 5†by Great Picture from all Sources Amazing TV. 100 times better than Samsung from same price range. I have returned my Samsung and bought this one. Panasonic is just doing what it should - is showing perfect quality picture from anything you plug into it. Does not matter 2D or 3D picture is stunning. Smart functions seems to work smoother than other brands.Really recommend this TV. 22 June 2013
