With a smart new style and enhanced connectivity, the Panasonic TXL50ET60B makes quite a statement.

PASSIVE 3D TV WITH 2D TO 3D CONVERSION

The Panasonic TXL50ET60 comes with Passive 3D TV. Although this doesn't give you quite as good resolution as Active 3D, it does offer some advantages. With the glasses being much simpler and not requiring batteries, they're also far cheaper. This means that Panasonic supply two, rather than the more usual zero pairs of 3D glasses. They're also lighter, more comfortable and less prone to flicker that can cause headaches. With 3D TV being this comfortable for the whole family to watch, you can make the most of the 2D to 3D conversion system that lets you watch any program in 3D!

LED PANEL WITH 600HZ BACK LIGHT SCANNING

Whether it's 2D or 3D you're watching, you'll not fail to be impressed by the quality of the Panasonic TX-L50ET60B screen. Panasonic LED backlit screens have quickly gained an excellent reputation for their true to life performance and the TXL50ET60B is no exception. Combined with fast processing is 600Hz backlight scanning system that helps deliver smooth motion - this is especially noticeable with fast moving sports events where the action stays focused throughout. Finally, the 'Brilliant' contrast ratio is just that with deep blacks, bright whites and vivid colours all combining to make the picture one of the most natural in its class.

IMPROVED SOUND

In addition to the improved picture quality, the TXL50ET60B also features audio enhancements over the lower Panasonic models. The VR-Audio sound processing system is matched by stereo speakers and a separate subwoofer. This not only gives a spacious, detailed sound but also a deeper, richer sound than lesser TVs. There is also an optical digital audio output; allowing you to easily improve the sound quality via a home cinema system.

SWIPE AND SHARE PLUS MY HOME SCREEN

New to this year's ET60 range is Swipe and Share and My Home Screen functionality. Swipe and share lets you use the Panasonic VIERA 2 app for smartphone media sharing. By using the app on your smartphone or tablet you can easily stream pictures, videos and music straight to the TV - no cables required! My home screen allows different users to personalise the home screen as they choose, for a bespoke user experience.

COMPREHENSIVE NETWORKING WITH BUILT-IN WI-FI

When it comes to connecting up, the TXL50ET60B is every bit as good as you'd expect from a Panasonic. Featuring a Freeview HD tuner, the TX-L50ET60B is ideal for making the most of High Definition TV. VIERA Connect brings together a host of features that make this much more than 'just' a TV. With the ET60B range you can stream video, photos and music from another source, such as your PC, via DLNA. Alternatively, use the Application-based browser to view shopping based functions, social media Apps and catch-up TV/film channels. As before, there's also a full web browser. As an added bonus, the new VIERA 2 app allows your smartphone or tablet controller to display a full keyboard. Use one of the two USB or the SD card inputs and enjoy music from many different file types via the dedicated media player. With such a comprehensive networking ability, it's good to see that the TXL50ET60B gives you the choice of connecting by either Ethernet or built-in wi-fi - no extra dongle required.

MORE STYLISH THAN BEFORE

With its new, Super Narrow Bezel and metal finishing, the Panasonic TXL50ET60B easily rivals more expensive TVs for style. The matching pedestal stand also swivels, ensuring you get the best viewing angle.

Fully equipped with 3D and Smart functionality, the Panasonic TXL50ET60B is fully prepared for your complete entertainment.

Rated 4.2 out of 5†by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5†by A lot of Bang for the Buck The brushed aluminum frame is very stylish & looks miles better compared to the cheap-look black plastic bezels that you get with LG/Samsung. Therefore, oozes quality - even when it's not on! Able to connect up to 2 external hdds which has all my 'purchased and converted' blu rays on it! Even MKV format plays fine! Sound is ok for general use, but I have a surround system which I hook up when banging on the movies - which I really recommend you doing to get the full cinema experience, as you will not be let down with the picture! TIP: Adjust the sound settings (distance to the wall) - if you select the 'over 30cm' option, you'll notice a decent bit of difference. Plus, the speakers get better in time, as straight out of the box needs breaking in. 3D wise, is pretty good. Plus, you can do dual gaming mode (Which LG seem to have the gimmick exclusivity of) so don't be conned into buying anything else but a Panny. Thanks to RS Nottm - you guys make me want to work there! Cheers Zak 21 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5†by Sound does improve with time I recently wrote a review about this TV and correctly stated that the out of the box sound was poor on this TV. I would like to report that the speakers loosen up after a few weeks and the sound has improved, we now do not feel the need to turn on the 5.1 surround system each time we turn the TV on now, whilst still not brilliant the sound is now more than adequate for watching regular TV. 26 November 2013
Rated 4 out of 5†by not too bad we had our old plasma for 5 years and bought this last week . pic is superb, the backlight at night leaves the pic kinda bright, the sound is terrible real bad, we are going to have to invest ina sound bar. but everything else is amazing, we bought the demo disc from lg and Panasonic so that we could show off what it could do when friends etc ask for a look slim lightweight very impressive looking if I had the choice now after owning for a week id buy another plasma instead 20 October 2013
Rated 4 out of 5†by Well handled motion and good picture - but blacks could be better. I've had this TV for a week, replacing a 2009 42 Panasonic Plasma. The TV looks great & even though it's screen is bigger, the minimal bezel and slim design means it takes up little more space on the wall. 1st impressions of the picture were excellent & by enlarge its hard not to feel like you're "in the room" when watching HD content, with motion handled smoothly in all but the most challenging scenes. Spinning up Captain America to check detail in dark scenes started to give me cause for concern with backlight clouding & a lack of detail. Whites can appear dull when compared to a dark background & I'm yet to find settings I'm happy with. The sound is dire, but I can?t think who is buying 50? TVs & doesn't have surround. Overall, I?m still undecided & can?t help thinking I should have stuck with plasma. Although having compared the two side by side, this set clearly gives far better & more controlled images than my old set. My advice, see one in action & make your own mind up. 19 October 2013
Rated 4 out of 5†by Excellent picture and smart features, poor sound Great looking TV with very slim bezel and nice stand Very easy to set up straight out of the box Smart features are easy to navigate Picture quality, standard definition broadcast picture quality is excellent with the built in upscaling. I haven't tried 3D. The sound is poor, I have placed this close to the wall and adjusted the settings raising the bass to near maximum, adding the bass boost and lowering the treble, it is now passable but I a use 5.1 separates system if watching TV for any period of time now. This set came with a five year guarantee and a free Panasonic blu ray player for just under a grand which is good value for a TV of this quality. Blu ray can be operated from TV remote I would recommend this TV but it really needs the addition of a sound bar or good surround system. Without this it disappoint, with addtional sound its a great buy. 26 September 2013
Rated 4 out of 5†by Superb picture quality for the money With a budget of around £1000 to spend, and with tough competition, I made the right choice with this tv, replacing my 46" Samsung. To get the cons out of the way. Do not buy this tv if you are relying on the tv speakers, it just doesn't cut it. This is normal. Anyone who likes their tv usually likes their sound, you don't get good quality sound in flat screen tvs of today. I was aware of this when I bought the tv. I have a 7.1 receiver which does the sound job superbly. Why did I buy this TV ?.... Well it was for the picture quality. Now you will hear that this set/panel doesn't provide deep blacks or has this or that problem. And if you view this tv in any high street showroom where they haven't changed the factory settings, then you will see these issues. But, take some time to adjust the settings (from the many avaialble) and you will see the stunning quality that this tv provides. I am extremely happy with this tv and the service provided by Richer Sounds..... again, thanks !! 30 August 2013
