"Solid value for money with an exceptional TV tuner." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.
Panasonic have produced the DMREZ27 with an eye on the future.
Perhaps most reassuring of all is that the DMREZ27 is a multi-standard recorder meaning that the type of blank disc you use doesn't matter; whether DVD-R, -RW, +R, +RW or RAM, the DMREZ27 will work with them all. Equally impressive is the playback capability, with the latest Panasonic easily being able to handle 16x-R, MP3 and JPEG from -R and dual layer discs, compatibility simply isn't an issue.
The next feature that stands the DMREZ27 in good stead for the future is the HDMI interface with 1080p upsampling. Not only is HDMI the best quality connection you can get for replaying your films on TV, but it is made all the more impressive by the up-sampling technology. Effectively, when connected to a suitable High Definition TV, this gives standard DVD an added dimension and extra realism that approaches the standards of HD-DVD. Furthermore, should you connect your DMREZ27 to one of the latest Panasonic TVs, then you'll also benefit from a whole host of interconnectivity via "VIERA link".
Finally, to ensure that this recorder won't be affected by the analogue switch off in a few years time, the DMR-EZ27 is fitted with a digital, Freeview tuner. As you'd expect, this digital tuner features an easy to use 7 day electronic program guide - making recording even easier. Yet where this recorder pulls ahead of rivals is in its digital tuner design. Panasonic have realised that not everyone gets a perfect digital signal, and have therefore designed the tuner to produce a stable picture even when the signal is poor - such as when it's reflected by large surrounding buildings.
If you're new to DVD recorders then, fear not, for despite being feature packed, the DMREZ27 is still easy to use: "Super Easy" menu systems see to that. For a DVDR that you can feel confident about buying, the Panasonic DMREZ27 deserves to be on your short list.
