Stocks erratic.
With Blu-ray now firmly established, now is the time to invest in a next generation machine.
One such player is the Samsung BDP1500. With the latest software on board, Blu-ray compatibility is better than ever. The BDP1500 now supports version 1.1 which gives access to features such as Picture In Picture and local content storage. AVCHD discs are supported as is the playback of BD-ROM and recordable BD-R/RE discs.
As ever the main reason for going "Blu" remains the picture quality. The latest Samsung Blu-ray player offers superb clarity and, thanks to xvYCC colour technology, improved colour definition. Another great feature of Blu-ray is the possibility of being able to play your existing DVD collection. As before, the BDP1500 will up-scale your current DVDs to 1080p via HDMI (provided you have a 1080p HD Ready TV).
In addition to the HD Ready HDMI v1.3 interface, you'll also find component and S-Video as alternative video outputs and optical, co-axial audio outputs. Unlike older models, the BDP1500 will now output HD audio via the HDMI, too. Furthermore, you'll also find an Ethernet Port which is ideal for receiving updated firmware online, or even accessing additional disc information.
Coming equipped with Anynet + allows the BDP1500 to be operated by a compatible Samsung TV remote and although at the height of technology, the BDP1500 remains remarkably easy to use. The graphic interface is intuitive and friendly to use, whilst the unique pop-up menu gives extra source information in an easy to digest format.
Finished to match the style award-winning Samsung TVs, the Samsung BDP1500 not only delivers the goods, but looks great, too. It certainly appears that Samsung are on to a winner here! |
