Packed full of useful features, there was little Sony could do to improve upon the RDR-HXD870. Yet improve upon it is exactly what they have done! Now featuring x-Pict Story, the RDR-HXD890 enables you to frame your photos with the appropriate look and feel through sound and transition effects. The final result can be burnt onto DVD and shared among family and friends. The RDRHXD890 continues with a total of 34 possible recording settings and a built-in 160GB HDD; making it a superbly flexible recording device. This gives the potential for an amazing 455 hours of material to be recorded without the need for a single blank disc! Of course, this Sony DVDR will also record on a wide variety of blank discs including DVD-R Dual Layer (VR and video) and DVD+R Double Layer. Unlike some rivals the Sony RDRHXD890 will also happily playback DivX and Super VCD discs.
Another advantage of the RDRHXD890 is the continual fitment of both analogue and digital tuners. This covers all bases and allows you to record Freeview channels if you can, or analogue if you don't yet have a decent Freeview reception.
When it comes to connectivity the Sony recorder is still amongst the best in its class. The HDMI output with 1080p upscaling offers stunning quality and, as a further bonus, is integrated with BRAVIA Sync for one-click system operation. Another great feature is the addition of twin USB ports. These allow for connection of a compatible PictBridge printer, digital camera or other USB media device. Adding to the joy of using the RDRHXD890 you'll also find a Digital Music Jukebox (up to 999 songs) and Digital Photo Album which both utilise the hard drive space.
With smart new styling and Sony's usual superb finish, the RDR-HXD890 takes up the 870's baton and continues to run ahead of the field!
