Hi and welcome to Richer Sounds Preston!
Refitted in 2006, Richer Sounds in Preston is situated on the corner of Lancaster Road and Church Street, in the heart of the city’s bars and nightclubs, with the best pint of Mild served by Gail at The Old Bull, right across the road from us on Church Street, or have a sandwich at Café Manyana in the Miller Arcade. We’re sure you could make an excuse to celebrate after you have made a purchase with us.
With the largest range of hi-fi, home cinema and flat panel TVs in the North-West, you will NOT leave disappointed. Come and see our store’s new lay-out after its refit in September 2006. It’s an Aladdin’s Cave of home entertainment.
Car parking is easy. Available across from our shop, St. John’s Minster has free spaces to park for 30 minutes. If you can’t get a space there you can try Avenham Street Car Park, where there is loads of space. If all else fails try the Bus Station.
Bring your pets, bring your wife/husband, give your kids one of our Vimto lollies and tell your mates about us. We, as a team, also like to believe that we can offer you the best, most accurate up to-date advice on all of the latest technologies available on the market place today, such as HD (high definition) plasma & LCD flat panels, DVD hard-drive recorders, multi-room systems and the difference between Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Not forgetting good old fashioned hi-fi.
A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away, out of the primordial ooze came an unfortunately good looking Manager in the guise of Matthew Gareth Morgan. After completing a degree in sound engineering at Swansea Institute he eventually decided that work was the new buzz after years of neglect. As you might tell he is a massive geekster when it comes to technology and knows the ins and outs of all things A.V and surround sound speaker packages so come on down and climb the mountain of chatmandu with Matt.
Fancy a game of cards while you wait, Howie will beat you hands down, with a smile of course, Howie joined us over 2 year ago as our stockroom controller, but was 'not very good' (his own words), we stuck a shirt and tie on him and Howie the salesman was born and he loves it! An avid film buff, who loves to go to flicks on a regular basis. Ask him how many times he has watched Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But go easy on him - he's new to the game (cards that is).
Alan sold his first ever hi-fi back in the early seventies whilst Julian Richer was still in school. He then took time away from selling hi-fi to do boring things for the Royal Mail before being tempted back to the hi-fi fold. There is nothing this man doesn't know, his favourite website is Slashdot.org a website for nerds and will bore you to death within seconds of any subject apart from popular music which he knows absolutely nothing about - he thinks the rock band U2 is a spy plane. Apart from this, Alan is the Mastermind and an integral part of the team, when you visit the store he will give you a warm welcome and can answer any question you throw at him, and I do mean any question!
A football referee in his spare time, Yak (to you and his friends) has been with us for over two years and is enjoying life with us at Richer Sounds, apart from Saturdays at 4.40pm when the football results come in and his beloved Manchester City lose again! A very helpful and all round happy chappy, Yak has spent his entire working career in electrical retail, if it's got a plug on it, he knows about it. Just don't mention football, you will be here all day.
A quiet but very helpful young man, who will make sure all the goodies you buy from us are in tip top shape.
What can we say about Mick, when he was young he wanted to be a fire engine, but he is more of a Tank, in build and in grip. Another one of our helpers in the stockroom, Mick loves all the jobs the rest of us can't do. He is the dad of the store and if any of us step out of line he'll give us a good telling off in Mick's Brummie ways.
