Stereo Power Amplifier
Make the most of your amplifier. View our hottest deals on hi-fi furniture.
With a mighty 140 watts per channel to hand, the Audiolab 8300XP effortlessly drives any speakers you care to partner it with. Such power not only means high volume potential but also deep, powerful bass and the tightest control, meaning a bass guitar actually sounds like bass guitar rather than just a one-note bass effect. If you use 4-ohm speakers, the power increases to an even more heady 230 watts per channel.
Matched with finesse
Just as you’d expect from this top quality audio brand, there’s much more to the 8300XP than mere power. The internal circuits are of the highest quality, featuring details such as ultra-pure OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) copper power and signal cables. This means even the most subtle details are clearly resolved, giving the 8300XP grace as well as power.
Bridge for monster power
If you’ve got a particularly large room or simply want the best possible sound, the 8300XP amp can be bridged. This means two amps being paired and used in dual-mono configuration. Take this option and the power per channel reaches an almighty 480 watts – just make sure you warn the neighbours!
The perfect partner for the 8300CDQ – with XLR inputs
The 8300XP is not just styled to match the 8300CDQ CD Player/Pre-Amp, it’s also designed to work perfectly with it, too. Developed in conjunction with one another, the sound they each create works in perfect harmony with the other. Link the two via balanced XLR cables and you’ve got a professional quality connection worthy of a top studio. Alternatively, standard RCA phono inputs make this power amp friendly towards any partnering pre-amp.
Although it’s a bit of a beast, the 8300XP disguises its bulk well. The immaculate finish and crisp lines make this an amp that simply blends in with the rest of your system. Available in black or silver, it’s also the ideal match for other Audiolab components.
For an amp that gets a grip on your speakers, let the Audiolab 8300XP put your system through its paces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snowdidley from New dimension I've hesitated for many months on whether investing this amount into my system would give me that added value, all I can say is why did I wait so long, This power amp has added a whole new dimension to my system, vinyl sounds so rich now, even streaming music via Bluetooth to the 6000a now the preamp has massively improved the warmth and power of the sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Plenty of muscle, but gentle on the ear The Audiolab 8300XP shares the warmth and neutrality of the 8000 amp, but packs considerably more power. When my old Adcom power amp packed up after 29 years, I was looking for something that could power my Magnepan speakers without overheating. I plugged in my Rotel Amp and found that it got hot really rather quickly, so much so that the thermal safety cut-out was activated if music was played at anything above modest levels. My old Audiolab 8000 performed better, but it was quite clear that the Magnepans are demanding speakers and something with real punch was needed to power them effectively. Unfortunately the power amps that can deliver over 120 watts per channel tend to be eye wateringly expensive. Also some have a tendency to sound a little too bright (as I found out in some in-shop listening) for my taste. The 8300 does not have an in your face sound, it is relaxed. This makes it very easy to listen to for two hours or more. At higher volumes it delivers a real thump in the chest from kick drums, but doesn't lose detail (try Funeral for a Friend by Elton John). It has real confidence in the way it delivers bass guitars (LCD Soundsystem London Sessions), and yet it manages to deliver a sense of space rather than just sounding muscular. On the negative side, it is basic and does not have some of the features that its more expensive competitors enjoy, but all I really want a power amp to do is provide the heavy lifting for the preamp. So I would recommend it for 'difficult' speakers or for larger rooms where a higher volume listening level is needed. Its size makes it a difficult fit for rooms where space is at a premium. At less than £1500 the 8300 is definitely worth checking out. You can spend the money you save on a decent holiday. This makes the 8300 popular with my wife (who was frankly not keen on me spending over 4 grand on a rival power amp).

Rated 5 out of 5 by AlexJG from Great, Friendly Service, Fantastic product I had been looking at Audiolab equipment as a possible upgrade and a in-store demonstration of the Audiolab integrated amp, convinced me this was the way to go, so I ordered this Power amp along with a CDQ to partner and I could not be happier with the sound or quality of the items

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gavros from Sweet Sound This power amp couplesd with the 8300CDQ produce a sweet sound at low levels even through my 30+ year old Rogers LS7 speakers. May have to save up to hear what they sound like through modern speakers . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by euan74 from Wondrous sounding monolithic beast from Audiolab I've had this 16kg true colossus of an amp now for a couple of weeks after a very thorough in store demo at Richer Sounds and it has absolutely astonished me. To say i'm impressed is an understatement. I'm just blown away by the sheer control this amp yields - at low volumes as well as when turned up some! High end treble is refined and allows for fatigue free continuous listening well into the early hours - needless to say the lower frequencies are well represented too with a sense of ease and weight without ever becoming boomy. I paired it up with the sublimely matched Audiolab 8300CDQ MQA able disc spinner - A partnership made in heaven on all levels!
