Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, absolutely fantastic I have been thinking of buying these speakers for a while, I wish I had bought them sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dynamics and wonderfully balanced sound I bought these speakers a couple of weeks ago and I'm bowled over with the difference they've made to my listening experience. Coupled with my Cambridge Audio CXA61 amp the definition and depth I'm getting from these little gems is nothing short of amazing. For anyone in the market for a pair of standmounts, you cant afford to miss these speakers off your short list. I chose these having compared with 5 of their comparable models from alternative manufacturers.....in my opinion none or the others came close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality build and great sound I studied many reviews of speakers in this price range and spec and the B&W 606 appeared to be a great choice to match my amp. I was able to arrange a demo at richer sounds York to confirm my choice, couldn't be happier with these speakers,I listen to a wide variety of music and they sound great at all volumes, and the build quality is fantastic, they deserve all the plaudits they receive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A revelation in bookshelf speakers! I bought my B&W 606 bookshelf speakers a couple of weeks ago from Richer Sounds, Southampton having had an excellent demo. Once they were delivered, the next day, l placed them on my existing Q Acoustics stands, I was astounded at the sound quality. Even running them by themselves powered by my Cambridge Audio amp, the frequency separation was incredible. All the instruments were clearly audible. I run also a REL T-5 subwoofer which just augments the overall bottom end. As I'm a bassist and bass trombonist, l tend to boost the lower and low mid frequencies very slightly for an overall warmer ambient sound. The REL is very adjustable to totally suit one's needs. I will say though that the B&Ws are most excellent on their own and the absolute majority of people wouldn't require the sub. I'm over the moon with my purchase and they are better than every pair of speakers that I've owned, even highish end Tannoy floor standers. I've even bought a set of B&W stands to complete my system. I'm just waiting for the sand ballast I bought to dry out before fitting them together. A big congratulations to Bowers & Wilkins for producing such amazing speakers and many thanks to Richer Sounds for the thorough demo.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look good, fantastic sound. I bought the Bowers & Wilkins 606 speakers from Richer Sounds and I am really pleased with them. They look good and sound fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed so far. The depth of the bass reproduction is hard to believe out such a size cabinet sometimes. They're only just run in so only going to improve further. The top end detail is so clear and I love the minimal look. Running of a Cambridge CXA80, seem to match well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met my expectations. Based of good reviews and years of experience of B&W speakers, I bought the 606's a few weeks ago as a present for my daughter. Richer Sound were also helpful in suggesting a preference for the 606's rather than the smaller 605's. Yesterday I tested the 606's against my floor standing B&W CM8's. With identical amps, two Arcam Solo Neos, and identical CD's I was able to flick between the speakers. The 606's have a brighter sound, and maybe, at first hearing, a more defined stereo. The CM8's sound super too, maybe a touch more natural and more going on, more depth. My lock down tune has been Kings of Leon 'True Love Way'. Played loud through the 606's it was thrilling. When I am able to deliver the speakers to my daughter I reckon she'll be very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like getting new ears Has these for about a week now, previous set of Mordaunt Shorts were no longer up to the job following the purchase of a Riga Planar turntable. A bit of fiddling about with bass levels and, as they are not on stands, some foam isolation pads but now they are sounding superb. Sound quality, particularly on the high notes is transformational - hearing things I had forgotten or never knew were there. And the quality at loud volume is much higher. Very pleased with the purchase. I am not a big hifi buff - it was a well-known brand and about the right price range for me, and the reviews were excellent, all borne out by the performance. As the title for this review says, like getting new ears...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab sound I bought these to replace/upgrade a pair of B&W DM 601 S2 speakers and straight out the box the sound was crisper, more detailed and an improved soundstage

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick replies, very helpful team! I bought the B&W 606 speakers. Unfortunately they got lost in transit, however when I emailed to find out where my speakers had got to, the people on email were very helpful! As they were a birthday gift I decided to call to see if I could get them delivered quicker and the man on the phone was amazingly helpful and I got my speakers 2 days later! Very helpful! Lovely people to buy from. Will definitely buy from in future. I

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new dimension in listening. Bowers and Wilkins 606 a new dimension in listening. Before I purchased the 606’s I spent many hours immersed in the ever contradictory world of reviews. I constantly tried to keep an unbiased view of what people were saying, accepting that the human ear and listening preferences are vast, “one mans meat is another mans poison” even with this healthy view, I struggled to make sense of all the reviews. My main struggle however was with my own prejudices, that floor standing speakers must be better than bookshelf or stand mounted ones. In my defence I did grow up in the era of JBL 100 and Celestion Ditton 44, which I believe greatly contributed to this misbelief. I had in the recent past purchased both the JBL studio 230 bookshelf speakers, and the much reviewed and acclaimed ELAC B6 Debut. Both of theses went the journey as they didn’t provide me with the dynamic range I was looking for, and of course reinforced in me my misbelief, that floor standers were so much better. I therefore settled on a second hand set of Linn Keilidh, these for a couple of years were my go to HiFi speaker, along with a set of Missions, Celestion Ditton, and some KEFs, all with the exception of the Linn’s, also went the journey. When upgrade time came I was of course looking toward floor standers, however bookshelf speakers were always at the back of my mind. Looked at Q3050i from Q acoustics, and the concept 40’s (as I have the concept 20 for surround sound system) and the widely acclaimed klipish R-620F. I wanted to fill the room with sound, unfortunately I hadn’t consider the size of my room in all this. It is a spare bedroom, in a two bed bungalow so space is something I don’t have a lot of, and subsequently all the above mentioned speakers I looked at, turned out to be physically to big, they would also need a lot of driving, making the sound possibly a lot louder, than I wanted. So from the back of my mind enter the bookshelf speaker, and in particular the B&W 606 or the 607, they can be stand mounted, so I did some more research. I had enough to get the 607’s with stands and just enough to get the 606’s, I settled on the latter. The misbelief I had developed, and maintained for all those years, about floor standers, being superior to bookshelf speakers was completely blown out of the water. I have never in the past, experienced such audio delight as the sound which presents itself, from these amazing speakers. They are so clear, the crossover engages all the instruments allowing you to clearly identify each particular instrument, even when they are played together. The imaging is clear and easily identifiable, the sound is so natural. In one of the reviews someone mentioned, “its not like listening to speakers, its like, just listening to sound” I totally agree with this statement, and if I am honest, it was one of the reason I went for them. Oh, and remember I wanted to fill the room with sound! I am very pleased to say that every part, crevice and nook and cranny are filled with an amazing sound, which is generated by these outstanding speakers. The balance of hi’s and low’s are for me just right, (some might want extra bass, maybe a subwoofer might help you) and the mixture of them is intoxicating. Vocals are very clear and sound as they should, from any artist. I love them when they are at a low volume, and I love them at a high volume, where they punch out the music without any distortion, the only disruption I am anticipating is likely to come from disgruntled neighbours. In closing I reiterate “one mans meat, is another mans poison” and these wont be for everyone, for me they represent in terms of meat: a juicy well cooked fillet steak, with all the trimmings, a meal I have never grown bored of, and don’t feel I ever will. I highly recommend these speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from big upgrade to sound quality! My previous speakers weren't of the highest quality and were some way below the quality of the Cambridge audio amp and Project turntable I have, but even I wasn't expecting the improvement in sound to be as stark as its turned out to be. Fantastic range with these speakers and in particular the lower end frequencies are particularly warm and rounded. Really beautifully balanced speakers and look great to boot, listening hours have taken a big jump higher!

Delivery was also fast and efficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptionally good sound from a small speaker I recently purchased these speakers after much deliberation. I am so pleased that I did buy them. They are exceptionally good for such a small enclosure especially in the mid range and imaging. They have good robust cable connectors which is also very beneficial.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look great, beautiful sound.. Purchased these an upgrade over my trusty old B&W DM600 S3 bookshelf speakers. I had been mulling both these and the smaller 607’s but finally opted for the bigger speaker and I have to say that I’m so pleased I did. The sound is such a vast improvement over my old speakers that it feels as though I’m discovering some of my old records for the first time. Deep, rich bass and sharp top end, I really can’t recommend these enough. Furthermore, they look great too. Especially when coupled with the Bowers & Wilkins speaker stands and subwoofer I also purchased at the same time. Very highly recommended..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional sound and appearance After 40 years with a pair of KEF speakers gave in to buy a new system. Chose B&W interest that company originated from Worthing ( note now based at Steyning where I went to school) More than impressed with this purchase .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound quality I brought these as an upgrade from my Q Acoustics 3020's & am so pleased that I did. These B & W's give a much more detailed sound with impressive bass, punchy midrange & crystal clear treble along with a huge soundstage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design, best bookshelf speaker for under £50 I bought the bower and Wilkins speakers over a week ago for my bedroom, as an upgrade from my old Cambridge audio speakers. The sound quality on these is perfect for the price, the bass is punchy and the vocals sound great. There is nothing bad to say for the price paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellence as always from B&W Having recently set up my Hifi again for working from home I was using some original B&W DM 600 speakers, so when an opportunity came to upgrade to the 606 I took it without hesitation. The difference is night and day; despite them taking up relatively little extra space they really pack a punch. Deep, punchy bass, revealing mids and detailed highs, these are comparable to my much larger home cinema B&W floorstanders. Absolutely amazing for the money and I could not be happier with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speakers I bought these a few weeks ago during the sale as a bundle with the Marantz amp and I’m very pleased with them. Great looking and more importantly amazing sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding bookshelf speakers So glad I bought these, they sound better than any other pair of speakers I've ever owned. Excuse my lack of technical terminology but these have a very clear precise sound even at high volumes, the bass is gorgeous with no rumbling. The high notes don't sound harsh like my previous speakers and I'm hearing way more sounds than I'd heard before. I'm playing mostly a mix of rock and dance music hooked up to my Yamaha A-S701 Amplifier from both my PC and my technics turntables. Don't hesitate to get these, you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B & W 606 Got a pair of these at at a great price to use with an old NAD amp, also purchased audioquest rocket 11 speaker cable and I am so pleased with the sound, I never would have thought you could get such a big sound from such a relatively small speaker and all dealt with so professionally by Richer sounds with quick delivery, thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sound great but cabinets built to a price. I have now bought around 15 pairs of speakers and decided to buy the 606's as I live close to the B&W factory and have a beautiful pair of DM5's from the 70's. Sadly on taking these out of the box they are built to a price; they are neat (sharp edged) and super clean (Silver Driver looks great!) but the cabinet lacks that heavy, solid feel like you find with the Wharfedale Diamond 220/230, the Mission LX2/QX2. The laminate is also cheap without depth or texture. The cabinet feels like my sound bar sub that's nothing special. The grill is awful cheap flimsy plastic that bows in the middle and overall you cannot compare it to my 45 year old DM5's that are still beautiful to this day with real veneer and they weigh a ton. If Mission can make even the LX2 feel like a piece of granite for a fraction of the price then of course B&W could do the same. Take note B&W, the magnetic LX2 grill is cnc'd mdf that's super quality. However disappointed by the lack of heft (and the heavier cabinets) it's forgotten the moment you connect them using quality cables. Despite the thin sounding cabinets it's clear that B&W invested the money where it counts... The sound. They sound beautiful, clean, bright without being harsh, warm, deep and they can go low without missing a beat. The soundstage is wide, the separation flawless and no doubt after some run in time (around 15 hours) they will sound even better once everything loosened up. A real achievement, it's just a shame they do not ooze the quality of other brands like Q Acoustics, Monitor Audio, etc. To note I bought a pair of Mission QX2's at the same time and in terms of heft and materials the Missions are in another league. Don't be put off, they may not last 45 years like my old DM5's but they sound wonderful and look great! If you do want a solid, weighty speaker that gives 85% of the 606's performance go for the QX2's they really are beautifully made and can get down with a little twist of the volume.
