The BDi Mirage 8222 has been designed to be the perfect complement to your hi-fi. The satin black finish and grey tinted glass front door conceal your hi-fi with style.
Designed for Hi-Fi
Unlike other hi-fi cabinets which may look similar, the Mirage features a number of features that make it especially suited to housing electronics. First off, the internal shelves and rear panel are vented for effective system cooling. Without this cooling your components' performance and life expectancy may be reduced. With cool air rising from the base and venting warm air at the rear, the Mirage keeps your precious hi-fi components at their optimum temperature. Taking this one stage further, should your components run really hot, a dedicated vent in the rear panel allows for the fitment of an internal fan. Another specialist feature that you won't find on most furniture cabinets is the IR (Infra Red) compatible glass door. This allows signals from your remote controls to pass through; without having to open the cabinet door!
A practical design
Inside the 8222 you'll find four adjustable shelves, each with the ability to hold up to 22.5KG in weight. The bottom, fixed, shelf increases this limit to 34KG - enough for the heaviest AV receiver. Access to the rear is easy. Thanks to the hidden wheels, one person can pull the cabinet out into the room. The rear panel features integrated cable management and is also easily removed for fast, efficient access to the rear of your components.

Not worth the price charged.
The unit appears to be made from a metal alloy, and is heavy, at around 60kg. However, when fitting the screws which support the shelves, any pressure applied can push the captive nuts into what is actually MDF board, revealing the cheapness of construction. In use, the sides of the unit pick up vibrations from my loudspeakers, which isn’t ideal, for a hifi rack. This is not worth the price of £1,099, and I would not have purchased it, if I had known about the defects.
