Generation 2i
Version Gen 2i brings a whole raft of streaming improvements. Apple AirPlay 2 is now supported, as is aptX HD Bluetooth. The HD version of aptX Bluetooth streaming supports 24-bit audio, making this the best quality Bluetooth connection to date. Another bonus is the adoption of dual-band wi-fi. The new wi-fi chip lets you take advantage of the less noisy 5 GHz band if needed. This results in faster connection times and fewer interruptions from other network traffic.

Another bonus with this Gen 2i version is two-way Bluetooth. This not only lets you connect up Bluetooth music sources put also outputs to Bluetooth accessories, primarily Bluetooth headphones in this case.
