”The AXA35 is a great budget buy and you’ll struggle to find a more confident-sounding stereo amp for the money.”– ‘What Hi-Fi’ – 5 Star review. Tested at £299
“Sound quality is excellent, and its minimalist features set makes it a delight to use.” - cnet.com
Power up
Boasting 35 watts per channel, the AXA35 is 40% more powerful than the smaller AXA25. This not only means it’s better at filling larger rooms but also in delivering a richer, more dynamic sound at lower volumes.
A step-up in quality
As well as being more powerful, the AXA35 also improves internal component quality, giving improved sonic detail and realism with less distortion. The toroidal power transformer and separate pre/power amp circuit boards are features usually only found in much more expensive amplifiers, making the AXA35 something of a giant-slayer.
Convenient features
Although the AXA35 is dedicated to giving the best sound possible, this doesn’t mean it’s left out handy features. Over the more basic AXA25 model, you’ll find the addition of a headphone socket and a system remote control that also operates matching Cambridge Audio CD players and streamers. The digital display makes it easy to check the amp’s operating status.
Your whole system connected – including a turntable
Featuring a phono input (for turntable with MM cartridge), the AXA35 is the perfect amp for a vinyl based system. It doesn’t end here, though. Four RCA phono inputs are ideal for a CD player, streamer, games console and even your TV set-top box. There’s also a 3.5mm AUX input at the front that’s handy for temporary connections – such as an MP3 player or smartphone. The audio output lets you take a signal out to an external processor or recorder.
Power your music player or Bluetooth receiver
Next to the audio inputs you’ll also find a handy USB power socket. This is perfect for powering Bluetooth receivers or smart audio streaming devices, such as the Google Chromecast Audio, without having to find another spare mains socket.
Sleek new style
The entire Cambridge AX Series has a fresh new look that catches the eye. The Lunar Grey front panel contrasts with the black top and sides, making it ‘pop’ into crisp focus. The minimalist button count give a timeless style that’s typical of the Cambridge Audio brand. The teardrop profile with wedge foot mirrors the CX Series, showing a strong family link between ranges.
Take your stereo sound to the next level, with the Cambridge Audio AXA35.
”Chord Company’s mastery of the speaker cable shows no sign of waning.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.
Terminated and ready to go
Pre-cut to two, 2.5m lengths, this is the ideal cable to compliment systems in smaller and medium-sized rooms. Terminated with Chord Company 4mm banana plugs, you’re guaranteed the best quality connection.
A top-brand cable for less
Chord Company is one of the most respected cable brands in the business and, with their top speaker cable costing over £3000 per metre, the C-screenX is something of a bargain! The C-screenX joins an award-winning line up and brings the class-leading 'Chord sound' to a new price level.
Discreet and easy for installs
With its slim 8mm diameter and flexible white jacket, the C-screenX is perfect for unobtrusive and discreet installations. Where you don't want to or can't chase the cables into the wall, the C-screenX is ideal for running above skirting boards. Perfect for stereo or surround sound AV systems, the C-screenX is a great all-rounder.
Excellent resistance to interference - now with XLPE
The Chord C-screenX uses oxygen-free copper cores, twisted to reduce interference. The cable now features XLPE insulation and is enclosed in a PVC casing to reduce mechanical noise. This means that the cable is less susceptible to sources of interference such as near-by mains cables or transformers.
Fitted with Chord Company Banana Plugs
The unique z-plug design connects to both standard 4mm and BFA type sockets. Twin fastening screws ensure an extra-tight grip on the cable, with additional strain relief. The gold-plated copper contacts offer a low resistance contact for the best sound quality.
For a quality cable that's easy to install, look no further.
Richer Sounds exclusive model.
Quality sound matched with ease of use makes the Denon DP300 a classic all-rounder.
Quality construction for the best sound
Using a 4mm-thick cabinet, the Denon DP300's plinth offers both rigidity and high density for the lowest levels of distortion. The aluminium platter also gives much better sonic results than plastic. Finished in gloss black it looks a cut above more basic decks and is the ideal match for your other, full-width, Hi-Fi separates.
High performance tonearm and cartridge
Compatible with a wide range of cartridges, the straight tonearm used by the DP300 offers superior tracking ability. A good quality MM (Moving Magnet) cartridge is included in the package to get you started with minimum fuss.
Fully automatic for ease of use
Unlike more minimalist decks, the DP300 combines great sound quality with total ease of use. Simply select the size of the record and the tonearm starts at just the right place. It also features auto-return, so you don't need to worry about damaging the stylus at the end of the record.
Connect up to any system with an AUX input
The built-in phono stage means that you don't even need to use an amplifier or system with a dedicated turntable input - any system with an AUX input in will do.
Get the best sound, hassle-free, with the Denon DP300.
A step-up from the award-winning 220, the Wharfedale Diamond 230 brings added bass into the mix.
Strong bass with style
Ideal for medium-sized rooms, the Wharfedale Diamond 230 offers the deep, powerful sound you'd expect from floorstanding speakers whilst keeping the overall dimensions relatively compact. Using a second, dedicated bass woofer, the Diamond 230 punches hard. Not only does this second woofer unit increase the depth and volume of bass, it also helps to 'fill out' the sound at lower volumes, making this an ideal speaker for use at all volume levels.
Class-leading sound
As with other Diamond 200-series speakers, the woofers are formed from woven Kevlar and feature textured ribbing for added rigidity. A revised magnet system gives even tighter control of the sound. When combined, it gives the Diamond 230 a precise, accurate sound with a crisp mid-range and true sense of realism. At the other end of the scale the treble unit is surrounded by a deeply dished waveguide. This helps to improve the imaging and 'width' of sound, making it easier to pick out individual instruments. The treble also provides loads of detail without ever sounding unrefined. Put together, the overall sound quality is fantastically well-balanced and natural with a solid bass to underpin the music.
New cabinet for improved sound and finish
New to the Wharfedale Diamond 230 is a sandwich cabinet design. Rather than the simple chipboard and MDF used by the previous Diamond 155, the new 230 uses particle board sandwiched by MDF on either side. This new type of construction gives superb rigidity and damping properties, helping to further reduce the already low levels of distortion. A further benefit is the smooth, MDF construction that offers up a cleaner surface for the veneer to be applied to; meaning a smoother finish all round. Also new is the gloss finished baffle, making the speakers far more pleasing to the eye. As before, the Diamond 230 ports the bass via an integral plinth, rather than the more usual front or rear holes. This not only provides a more efficient and even bass output but also makes the speaker easier to place as you don't have to take wall positioning into account as much.
With its effortless all-round ability, the Wharfedale Diamond 230 is hard to beat.
