Putting sound first
Skilfully engineered, the Cambridge Audio AXC25 puts the emphasis firmly on sound quality. Features such as separate power and output circuit boards and a centrally mounted CD transport help reduce distortion and maximise the potential of the high quality Wolfson DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). Features are basic but the sound is certainly a step above its rivals.
Now with gapless playback
New to the AXC25 is gapless playback. With some CDs, a marker point is placed between tracks, even though the music runs continuously. This produces an annoying pause in the music as the player reads the track marker. With gapless playback, this is no longer an issue, meaning you get to hear the whole album exactly as the artist intended.

The entire Cambridge AX Series has a fresh new look that catches the eye. The Lunar Grey front panel contrasts with the black top and sides, making it ‘pop’ into crisp focus. The cool white display and minimalist button count give a timeless style that’s typical of the Cambridge Audio brand. The teardrop facia with wedge foot mirrors the CX Series, showing a strong family link between ranges.

Good CD Player
I bought this CD player to replace the Cambridge Audio CD4 I had for nearly 25 years. Very satisfied with my old player so went back to Cambridge for its replacement. Improved sound quality and works well with my Regards Brio amp and Dali speakers. Very satisfied customer.

High quality CD player
Purchased 2 days ago to go with a new AXR85 receiver amp. The sound is great. I highly recommend this AXC25 CD player to anyone that wants a quality sound from their HIFI.

Perfect player
I purchased this player after I had bought the AXC35 amp. I used my bluray player to playback cd's but decided to get the Cambridge cd player. Looks great next to the amp and separates instruments on playback better than the bluray. Great price for the 25 too. The AXC35 cd player is not necessary unless you want the dac output option.

Excellence in Simplicity
Recently recused my (fairly extensive) vinyl collection and old hifi components from the attic eaves after 30 years. Had to replace the Pioneer amp - so bought the AXA-25. My first Cambridge Audio purchase, following a fair bit of research. Very impressed with its performance and simple, high quality, aesthetics. The poor old Pioneer PD-M6 CD player was beyond salvage too; so bought the AXC-25 to complement the amp. Not much research this time. My confidence in CA was not misplaced. The build quality is obviously identical to the AXA-25, but I am astounded by the sound quality. It its beautifully crisp and deep. Having listened to music via HomePods, Echos etc. for the last 10 years I now realise how dumbed-down my listening has become. The AX series is great value in my opinion and has re-awakened my sheer pleasure in listening to music.

Amazing performer
We purchased one in Edinburgh today to replace our cd3 cd and dac which finally passed away.
The detail and control across a wide genre of music is outstanding.
The sound stage allows total immersion into the performance and dynamically it punches way above its weight.
You will not regret buying one.
