Perfect for surround sound systems
With floorstanding and standmount sound speakers available, the Cambridge Audio SX70 is ideal as part of a surround sound speaker system. With a similar sonic balance to the other SX-series, speakers you get a smooth, uniform sound right the way around your room for a totally enveloping sound.
Crisp and clear for precise vocals
Featuring a silk dome tweeter, the Cambridge Audio SX70 offers a smooth response that's essential for clear, accurate dialogue. Even during intense, action movie scenes, the dialogue remains crisp and easy to hear.
Twin woofers for broad sound
Using two woofers placed either side of the tweeter gives the SX70 a wide soundstage, meaning that it connects-up with your front speakers seamlessly. Now, when a jet aircraft rushes across the screen, the sound will follow from left to centre to right, without a break.
Robust, MDF construction
Made from dense MDF rather than flimsy chipboard, the SX70 is built to last. That solid construction also has a knock-on effect in helping to improve the sound quality through higher cabinet rigidity. Other neat design features that we love include the recessed drive units with hidden fixing bolts, making sure the front the panel looks every bit as smooth as the sound.

Very pleased
I bought this SX-70 to replace an existing speaker in my 5.1 set up where I felt that the speech never really came across very well, this speaker has totally transformed the set-up. Voices are now crystal clear and crisp.

Great value
Big sound for the money, but to me movie/tv voices sound boxy. This may be my placement (on a contained shelf in media center, rather than an open shelf). Although this is a much more capable center to the Mordaunt Short- Genie it replaced, voice reproduction on the Cambridge to me is less pleasing. On the other hand, musical reproduction with the Cambridge is hands down next level the Genie. Having said this, for the price this center is an steal with Richer Sound's mega long gaurentee included.

Amazing sound
I set this up in a 5.1 speaker setup. Using it allows for a more defined movie experience with the characters voices being able to be heard clearly.
It also plays music really nicely, it is not as basey as other speakers though it wasn't designed for that.

Brilliant addition to surround sound system
Purchased this to replace acoustic small speakers. Goodness me what a difference! As a centre speaker it adds warmth, bass, perfectly balanced. Audio and voices are much much clearer. It is immersive and fills the room - no distortion. I’ve listened to a few favourite films to hear the difference. Can’t recommend enough!! Don’t think I’ll buy any other make of speakers ( just bought the Cambridge audio MIN22 satellites to replace front left and right too) great service from Richer sounds ;)
