Make your home cinema sound much more like the real thing, with the Dolby Atmos-equipped Pioneer VSX-534.

Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X for immersive sound

Dolby Atmos (3.1.2) uses ceiling or upwards firing speakers to produce a multi-dimensional, immersive sound that's a match for the multiplex. DTS:X literally pushes the boundaries of what you can expect from home cinema. This highly sophisticated processor renders images in three dimensions that conventional processing can't match. If extra ceiling or upwards firing speakers are impractical then try DTS Virtual:X. This gives a good impression of extra height without the extra speakers.

Powerful, high quality sound
With a punchy 135 watts (at 6 ohms) per channel, the Pioneer VSX-534 has easily enough grunt for delivering immersive cinema sound in all but the largest rooms. More than just powerful, the VSX-534 is about quality, too. Using a 384kHz/32-bit AKM DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) at its heart, this AV receiver takes full advantage of high resolution movie soundtracks and music.

Widely compatible
Featuring four HDMI inputs and an output to your TV, the VSX534 is ready to handle all your HD sources. Compatible with HDR10, HLG, BT.2020, HDCP2.2 and Dolby Vision, the HDMI sockets won’t restrict the sound and vison from your sources. Ideal for HDR games consoles, UHD Blu-ray and 4K HDR set-top TV boxes, this AV receiver is ready for them all.

Stream music from your mobile via Bluetooth
With a Bluetooth receiver built in, it's easy to enjoy your music from other devices. Pair with your smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and wirelessly stream all your favourite music. With the possibility of streaming music services, such as Spotify, Deezer and Tidal, as well as your own music library, you get access to near unlimited music.

MCACC makes set-up a breeze
Despite packing a lot of tech in, the VSX534 is easy to set-up and use. Pioneer's unique MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration) system tunes the amplifier to the size of listening room and speaker placement, at the touch of a button. Phase Control technology means a cohesive sound between the speakers, wherever you choose to place them in the room.

Zone B output
A passive, Zone B output adds even more flexibility> Either connect it to a pair of active speakers (with amp built-in) in another room or use it with a wireless headphone dock (not supplied) for cable-free headphone listening.

Slimline design
Slimmer than the previous model, the VSX534 is easier to fit into your cabinet or rack. The sleek design also has a minimal button count, making it more intuitive to use as well as easier on the eye.

Treat yourself to the immersive sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with the top-value Pioneer VSX-534.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound....but Well packaged and got set up pretty quick. Only issue is the problem getting video from DVD player through the switching on receiver. Cannot get to work yet. New 4k leads and playing about with menu's but still no joy. May be a Samsung issue as looking on internet has flung up issue . Would I recommend... for sound and set up yes but HDMI inputs and ARC not so sure..yet

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound I bought this to replace a TEAC cinema amp that was 17 years old. The VSX534 is easy to set up with the included microphone. I have 5 wharfed ale speakers wired in. The sound quality is excellent. My TV is ARC compatible so when i turn the TV off it also turns off the VSX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job I’m not an expert on these things but needed something to power my B&W 686 S2’s and Richer Sounds recommended this. Nice and easy to set up and use, the quality is great (though I don’t know how much owes to the speakers vs the amp) and the HDMI in and out means I could use an Apple TV to add AirPlay capability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great upgrade I pondered on this purchase for a while. I was replacing an old Sony AV receiver which was 15+ years old. It was OK but didn't have any HDMI connections so was no longer compatible with anything I had. This Pioneer suited me as I wanted a basic system I could use with my Sony speakers, which were already wired behind walls, under floors. The sound is fine, although I need to read the instructions a little more so I can understand a couple of "Features". The lip sync is out occasionally, even with the setting set to Auto, perhaps a firmware update may help. I've also set the passthrough on my Virgin V6 box but that does not always work, particularly when the receiver has been on standby overnight. A quick on/off of the receiver and passthrough works fine. Altogether I am pleased with the sound quality and features. The service from Richer Rounds has been great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good cinema sound I purchased this two weeks ago, i was amazed how immersive the sound is, i was previously using a Yamaha sound bar, reading reviews of AV receivers, i did not really understand the term immersive, until i experienced it, and WOW.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than I expected (and bigger!) I've had a Sony cinema system for about 9 years, and it claimed to be 5.1 surround sound. Recently, I decided to purchase an AV receiver as my TV only has 1 HDR input, and I have multiple devices that can output HDR. It was cheaper to buy a receiver than a new TV. The first thing I noticed, when I wired my speakers up, was that I had never heard surround sound like this before. It was incredible. Also, it was great being able to use my PS4 with HDR turned on! The receiver makes a lot of clicking noises as you change various settings, which can be a little disconcerting, but this is a powerful machine, so I don't mind it too much. The settings menu could do with reworking as I'm constantly opening up settings trying to find something specific. It's far larger than I thought it would be, it's approx. the size of a regular PC tower laying horizontally! I really love the true 5.1 I'm getting and 4K upscaling. Would defnitely recommend to people who are just getting in to setting up home audio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound at a good price My 10-year old Onkyo TX-SR506 AV receiver had lost its configuration memory and, after much deliberation, a replacement was in order. The VSX534D with DAB radio was out of stock so I went for the AM/FM version instead. Pros: sleek design, on-screen dialogue for easy set-up, Later HDMI interconnect has allowed cabling to be rationalised. Cons: The volume level is displayed in -dBs which takes some getting used to, speaker connections are on the small side. All said, the Pioneer has a good range of features for its price point.
