Suits many systems
The Odyssey 2 lives happily in budget, mid-price and reference systems alike. Quality construction
Each set of conductors is made up of 19 strands of silver-plated oxygen free copper surrounded by PTFE insulation. These are heavier conductors than the ones used in the Rumour cable and it's these that give the musicians (vocals, drums, guitars and acoustic instruments) a certain weight and 'rightness' of sound.
Whatever the system and whatever the speakers, Odyssey 2 is a 'must try' speaker cable.

A good cable but I'm not bowled over
I bought this cable after a conversation with a member of staff as I was returning another product. I wouldn't say that it was an appreciable upgrade on the cable that I was already using. A slightly different tonal balance but not a particular improvement. I've said 'recommend' as it is clearly a quality speaker cable but you might find as good a cable for yourself much cheaper given the chance to try a few out.

I use this cable from Chord on my Naim system along with my ProAc D20 speakers. I find the cable fine with good musical reproduction.
Its even better when you use the Naim F Connection. This entails dropping the jumpers that come with the speakers. Any competent dealer should be able to do this for you.

Pricey! Is it worth it?
I wish that I had researched this to the degree that I researched the amplifier and speakers. The salesman's descriptions of the main items I was buying matched well what I read in the reviews. I thought that cable would be just a detail, but I was taken aback by the price. He was not in any way pushy, but I had to make a quick decision based on inadequate examination. I decided to purchase. It is like heavy duty mains flex with plated conductors and a tough sheath - not easy to conceal under a carpet. I cannot honestly hear much difference with this as compared with inexpensive and flexible speaker cable I bought from Maplin some years ago, already under carpet. I realise that good bass response requires good conductivity of thick cable, but I found the bass response overall well beyond expectations even with the cheaper cable. This seems more suited to the power requirements of a disco, not a lounge. I think that my money could instead have been better spent on higher spec speakers.

First class service
I purchased this speaker cable for my mother in law who has just moved house. Advice was excellent - but then the amazing bit - I had assumed the terminals were wrap around - but no, needed plugs on the end - so took the cable back and they were fitted for free!
I know Richer Sounds has a reputation for service - well now I have experienced it too!!
