With the Katch you can now get that famous DALI sound from a compact Bluetooth speaker. It might be small but that hasn't prevented DALI from squeezing in proper two-way, stereo speakers with soft dome tweeters. Together with the twin ABRs (Auxcillary bass Radiator) this gives the Katch an amazingly life-like and dynamic sound from such a small speaker.
Tailor the sound
Because you might not always want the same type of sound, the Katch features two audio profiles; 'Clear' and 'Warm'. 'Clear' is the default choice for when you just want to hear the sound as the musicians intended. If you're having a party or prefer a bassy sound then choose 'Warm' for a sound with a bit more punch.

Playing music from your smartphone or tablet couldn't be easier with the Katch. All you need to do is hold the NFC-compatible device next to the speaker and you're ready to start streaming. Non-NFC-compatible devices pair in the usual way, giving you wireless music streaming over a distance of around 10m. The Katch is also compatible with Bluetooth aptX, so if your source is similarly specified you'll get a further boost in sound quality. A 3.5mm input allows wired connection for older sources.
Long-lasting rechargeable battery and phono charging
The Katch features one of the longest lasting batteries in its class. Once charged it's good for up to 24 hours of continuous playback. Connect up your smartphone via the USB socket and it will charge up its battery, too.

Even under these strange circumstances the service was second to none. I received really helpful advice and a mistake in the order was rectified immediately. Delivery was even quicker than i was expecting. The product itself is everything i thought it would be - really easy to set up and use, great sound, amazing battery life and super stylish! Very happy with my purchase and that i went through Richer Sounds.

outdated and imperfect, but best of its kind
pros: smooth engaging and spacious - best sound for size, best in class 24-hour quick-charging battery, very portable, neat EQ toggle and volume buttons, looks solid with out flashing. cons: limited outdoor use as neither rugged nor water-resistant, no previous or next track buttons, carry pouch offers next to no protection, non-standard charger, no wifi, no aux-in cable included, expensive given limitations. In sum it's small size and resulting sacrifices in sound plus no wifi means not perfect for indoor use, but isn't great for outdoor either, the future editions have much to work on as this is starting to show it's age.

Such a big sound from something so small
Purchased the Dali katch a couple of weeks ago now played all types of music in all areas of the house pressing the equaliser button to warm when nothing behind the speaker and on cool when against a wall this is a brilliant feature,because this is a actual proper speaker and doesn’t have a rubbish sub strapped to the side of it the sound quality has a lot of detail and punchy base,I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for and the Dali katch Certainly does that fantastic little product hats off to Dali.

Great sound quality, attractive design
Purchased recently to replace an old Soundlink ii. Felt like a frivolous purchase but after settling in using it, it now feels like a wise investment. Great sound quality, great battery life, ease of use and great design and feel of quality.

Great sound but...
There’s no denying the Katch has a great sound so I’m very happy in that respect but switching it off is a nightmare, and also the blue light for Bluetooth flashing randomly. If it does go off, again randomly it won’t go on again unless it’s connected to mains power. I’ve checked online and other people have this apparently unresolveable problem. Could maybe accept this in a cheapo product but not at this price.

Stylish with clear and surprisingly powerful sound
I had been researching which Bluetooth speaker to get for a while, and knowing the Dali brand from several sets of speakers I've owned over the years, I decided to go for the Dali Katch. Granted, it was not the cheapest Bluetooth speaker out there, and you can even find smart speakers with many more features for the same price.
The thing is, Dali mixes style and sound like no other brand, which is also true of the Katch. It looks lovely and discreet, but the sound is surprisingly full and clear given the size of the speaker. The battery seems to last over 20 hours on a single charge, and it can even charge my smartphone via the USB port, which should come in very handy when going camping.
If you don't need the features of a smart speaker, this happy camper can highly recommend the Dali Katch!

Dali Katch - Bluetooth Speaker
Excellent ! We moved house and in down sizing sold off all our super but bulky hifi. Our favourite corner for listening to the radio seems to be in a dead zone for reception. This speaker was a stop gap solution to provide radio as well as streaming music, audio books etc. A more comfortable alternative to wireless head phones. It is extremely light and easy to carry about (important if into a podcast). Sound quality is super. Maybe a bit pricey, but long term probably worth it.
This is a stop gap before getting something more serious....am looking at Sonos, KEF LSX etc which lack the portablity....so thought that this would be still useful in its own right.
Tried a few other speakers but the Dali does stand out for clarity of sound.

Defies laws of physics and some!
Tonally correct and powerful enough for a large room. No it isn't a match for my Musical Fidelity and Linn Sondek but I can carry this and my smartphone around and enjoy the music I want to listen too-anywhere. Just brilliant. Richer Sounds, as ever great advice great price.

Great design, beautiful sound
Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas after much research- very crisp sound, perfect for acoustic and classical music. As previous reviewers have said, the bass is thinner than other speakers- however we have found by adjusting the settings and putting one side against a wall this balances the sound. Brilliant little speaker and very pleased with my choice!
Richer Sounds were also brilliant and very helpful throughout the process.

Superb sound and easy to transport
Excellent little speaker, providing super sound for listening to Classic FM on my Raspberry Pi when I'm busy at home working on the desktop and for listening to Wagner on my iphone when I'm stuck in a hotel room when travelling.

Bought this two years ago. It is used all the time - indoors and out. The sound is superb. Not too basey- well balanced and pure. We absolutely love it. We had never heard of it before going into Richer Sounds- completely the right choice for us.

The Dali Katch has really fantastic sound - crisp and clear. Only reason I've not awarded five stars is the first one I bought had a fault - it wouldn't turn off. Richer Sounds were great and replaced it straightaway.

I have been looking at reviews for WiFi speakers for - well too long. I went into Richer Sounds and listened to quite a few and really appreciated the difference. The shop assistants were knowledgeable & I played my own music. I purchased a Dali Katch & am very pleased with it.

Very impressive sound
Didn't really know which portable speaker we wanted when we set out, we were shown several different options and listened to them all in the sound room and the Dali Katch stood out for us, a good solid sound good bass and good top end, it was very very impressive, we use it in our front room and kitchen and it comfortably fills the rooms with clear quality sound, on top of that it's totally portable with huge battery life and it looks funky as well, not the cheapest portable by far but worth every penny.

Had for about a week. Room positioning makes a big difference to bass response. Pretty expensive but probably worth it. Get the googlechromecast audio

One is good, two is meddlesome and annoying
We bought our first DK a couple of years ago, and like new parents, we enjoyed having one so much we thought ‘Why not get another?’ If only we had known.....
The sound from each is great, as many others have said. We had thought that having two, and hooking up for a genuine stereo sound, would be mind blowing. Sadly, the logistics of doing so cleanly have proved maddeningly tricky.
We managed the hook up fine. The trouble was, one or other speaker kept dropping signal. Richer Sounds recommended a firmware reset. This caused one speaker to pack up entirely. Thankfully RS replaced it without quibble. A second diagnostic session with them led to a call to Dali themselves. The apparently laid back dude on the other end immediately said something like ‘Yeah, the second speaker will be trying to pair with other Bluetooth devices. You need to make sure there’s no other devices in the vicinity. Happens all the time.’
Ah. So, how practical is that, given modern devices? Now if we want stereo music, we just have to disable all Bluetooth enabled devices in a 12 block area, frisk any visitors for same, and set phasers to stun. Oh, and the device you are using? Make sure you have disconnected the second DK speaker from its Bluetooth memory too, or it won’t play either.
Sitting alone, I just spent 10 minutes sweeping the area of rogue signals and making sure my babies were both playing. Duly set up, I can confirm that the stereo sound is wonderful, truly a treat. But it is a rare treat indeed, given the impracticality of the set up shenanigans.

Lovely to look at, easy to use, great sound
There are so many bluetooth speakers on the market, but this caught my eye. So far it seems to be worth every penny - it looks fantastic on my sideboard, the round is great, with a nice resonant deep sound, and it is the easiest thing to connect to and use. I can't fault it.

Great sound in a great shape
Bought this as a portable speaker for my wife. Fits nicely in her bag and produces excellent sound for the size. Was a bit pricey but no regrets. *I was influenced by the fact that I have 5 Dali speakers in the living room and we are all happy with them.

Sounds Good/Looks Good
This is the second Dali Katch I've bought as I wanted to replace my main HiFi system, which was an old Bose set up which had suffered from a dead amplifier. The Bose also had masses of cables connecting the speakers using non standard connectors i.e. tying one in to Bose equipment. It's fiddly getting the two Dali Katch speakers to work as a stereo pair but I've had intermittent success and hope to get it sorted eventually.

Good quality build with great sound
I bought a pair of these Bluetooth speakers about Month ago and have had a chance to play with them. They are good quality speakers with a good sound range. I have paired up 2 to give me stereo sound which is as good as a normal stereo system in my opinion. The battery life is impressive. They are not small speakers and have a fair weight to them but have a neat carry handle and come with a charging / masons cable and a pouch to keep it in. All in all very pleased, not cheap but definitely good quality. Time will tell as to whether any of the problems others have reported come to light.
