"The Elemental is yet another top-class budget deck from Pro-Ject. It's a fine first step on the vinyl ladder." What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine. 5-Star review.

Engineered for superior sound

Designed to take on the more usual 'plastic' designs at this price, the Pro-Ject Elemental has the same basic engineering values of its more expensive designs. So for the base and platter, Pro-Ject uses high density MDF. This gives increased mass and better damping properties, both of which are ideal for providing lower distortion. A further advantage of the high mass platter is that it provides a more consistent speed, helping both pitch and timing consistency.

Plug 'n' play
Despite offering genuine hi-fi sound, the Elemental has been designed to be as unintimidating as possible. From unboxing, all that's needed is for the platter to be placed on the bearing, the belt attached, the stylus guard removed and you're good to play. Both cartridge and counter weight are already fixed so there's no need for complex adjustments.

A style statement
As you'd expect from the makers of some of the coolest turntables in the business, the Pro-Ject Elemental destroys the opposition in terms of style just as much as it does with sound. The stripped down aesthetic mirrors the minimalist look of their more expensive turntables and comes with a choice of coloured trim.

True hi-fi quality, style and superb value are simply elemental in making this a class-leading turntable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good l, but marred by background rumble This turntable is about as a minimalist as you can get. It’s a plug and play record player with a decent cartridge and good looks. It also takes up less space than a full-on square based turntable, which is why I bought one., But it’s no Rega beater and you basically get what you paid for. Dynamics are good, but a high end system will soon reveal its negative aspects, the most obvious of which is background rumble. This is caused by poor isolation of the plinth and motor from the turntable itself, so low frequency motor vibration gets to the cartridge. This isn’t too bad on loud music (except between tracks of course) but it’s not suited to classical or music with quieter moments. For the price of two full tanks of petrol, it’s an acceptable entry level turntable though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great experience Bought Q Acoustic speakers speakers and Project turntable. So happy with service and price, returned 2 days later for an amp when the old one packed up. Great product knowledge on the website backed up with equal knowledge and courteous service in the store

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound, stunning design, excellent price I bought the project elemental turntable about two weeks ago, after it had been on my wish list for about 6 months, and I'm extremely glad I did. Partnered with a Denon dm41 receiver, Q acoustic 3020's and project phono stage, it really sings. I listen to all types of music and just going through all the different genres of music I listen too, hearing all the details that I never really got with my old turntable, coupled with the excellent sound that is achieved with my system overall has been a pleasure. I would highly recommend this product, even with the added expense of having to get a phono amp and wiring, it is still something that is obtainable regardless of your budget and given the price, the quality of components used and overall build are exceptional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound for the price. I needed a new turntable, didn't want to take out a new mortgage. This is perfect for me, I love the minimalist design too. Who needs a dust cover??

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flawed unfortunately Great on first impression. But the belt coming off is a pain when changing speeds Unit is a total dust magnet and not easy to cover without forking out £60 for the genuine cover Biggest issue was motor hum particularly noticeable listening through headphones. Returned and bought Teac TN300 which I cannot fault
