SO FAR SO GOOD
My first "proper" hi-fi was a full size separates system back in 1981 when a turntable was an essential part of any music system. Some years later I added a CD a player and as my CD collection expanded use of the turntable contracted and I built another hi-fi around the CD player. However now that vinyl is popular again I thought the time had come to add a turntable to my current hi-fi. I chose the DP-300 mainly because of the reputation that Denon has for producing high quality products and the DP-300 is no exception, being well made, finely finished and smooth and quiet in operation. The bottom line however is what does it sound like ?, well I am no audiophile but the sound is open and spacious with a pleasant bassline that completes that warm mellow sound that is typically vinyl.

What do you need to make you smile and happy in January 2021? A cracking new turntable with booming speakers, then dig out your record collection from 50 years ago and get cleaning and listening. So far Cream, Pink Floyd, Hendrix and now listening to Tommy by The Who. Thing is, 50 years ago it didn't sound this good!! Brilliant.

This product is definitely great value for money
Many years ago I purchased a Linn Sondek LP12 turntable from Russ Andrews via their sound studio. Needless to say I had many years of great listening before I sadly sold it on to a good friend.
Fast forward 40 years and with slightly poorer hearing I've once again purchased a record turntable this time the Denon DP 300 with standard cartridge.
Technology having moved on has allowed me to pair this turntable with powered steljes
NS3 speakers.
The sound from this simple set up is impressive to say the least so its a big thanks to Richer Sounds for their advice before buying.
I also have the option to upgrade if I feel like getting a little bit adventuress!
