Designed to maximise your CD bang-for-buck, the Audiolab 6000CDT transport foregoes the DAC for exceptional digital ability.

Transport only, for your choice of DAC or digital amp

As a transport only, the Audiolab 6000CDT comes without a built-in DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). This not only saves you money but also gives you the freedom to choose your own DAC or partners the CD transport with a digital amp, such as the matching Audiolab 6000A.

Chose the output that’s best for you
Featuring both optical and coaxial digital outputs, the 6000CDT works with almost all DACs and digital amps.

Top quality, slot-load mechanism
Using the slot-load mechanism from the highly acclaimed 8300CD, makes this player faster to load and cleaner in style. Doing without the traditional loading tray also reduces the chance of resonance, potentially improving sound quality still further. Using a read-ahead digital buffer, it’s also more tolerant of imperfect discs that might be scratched or dirty, letting you play your most loved discs that other players won’t.

Smooth style
With its slot-loading mechanism, the 6000CDT looks pure and sleek in design. A choice of silver or black, blasted aluminium finish means that the player will fit in with a wide range of other hi-fi components.

Hear the true potential of your CDs, with the stunning Audiolab 6000CDT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb sound ,great value Bought in January unfortunately developed a fault after 4months ,exchanged for new one ,which so far working fine. Richer Sounds service as usual first class and hopefully first player fault just a one off,as 6000cdt sound quality worth giving it a second chance. If not for problem with first player i would have given it 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb sound and excellent smooth loading. Not had it long but is working fine. So much better than my old Arcam cd player that used to jump and click.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this CD Transport Ok there is a bit of a story here, so bear with me. I am partially deaf and wear 2 hearing aids - so I think it is fair to say that I don't hear music as well as others do. That said a Hi-Fi dealer once said to me years ago that he felt I had a good ear for music. It is true to say I certainly enjoy it. I was using a Blu-ray player to play my music as well as films through a Denon 7200WA receiver, but I always thought that there just was not the detail or musicality I was looking for. I did a lot of research on the net, and opinion was sharply divided as to whether a stand alone CD player or transport would relay the music info any better than the Blu-ray player, as after all it is digital, and just 0 & 1s. I actually placed a Audiolab 6000CDT in my basket 3 times but could not decide to actually go through with the purchase. I also realised that the Denon amplifier being a receiver was probably not best for music relay, but that is another story. One day I thought to myself - I am going to ring Richer sounds and discuss the problem, and see what they thought. I got through to Dave who without trying to push me one way or the other confirmed my thinking that this would be a worthwhile purchase. Having purchased the item I can say that for the price point this Audiolab player is very good imho. Seems to resolve much more detail, and better timing etc, even to my cloth ears Lol. If you are looking for a CD transport - I can fully recommend this one, and Richer sounds advice and service have been second to none. Many thanks to Richer sounds - I am one happy bunny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good but I think/hope the best is yet to come The 6000CDT arrived safely in a robust box with shaped foam support. It's well made and I had no issues with setting it up. It seems to need time to bed down. On first playing Mendelssohn's 'a midsummer night's dream' it was so coarse in sound that I thought it was faulty and was tempted to send it straight back. It's improving slowly however - or my ears are becoming attuned to a different sound... Oddly I'm much more aware or recording level variations between CDs. Likes (after 4 days): Definition and clarity of performers. Placement of performers and instruments in the stereo field. Space between performers. Instruments that previously were barely audible are clearly part of the performance now but not in an intrusive way. Dislikes: The matt paint finish on the top cover which holds marks far too easily and will be a dust-magnet. It needed to be wiped down after installation. Some symphonic still sounds coarse with some harshness in mid/upper range. System: 6000CDT CD player using S/PDIF coax to Audiolab 8200AP, Audio Analogue Donizetti power amp, Tannoy XT6F loudspeakers, a much modified Rega Planar P1 and now the 6000CDT. Also tucked away an Analogue Audio Bellini preamp and a venerable Audiolab 8000A amplifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb transport I read a review on this transport which was very favourable. I must say it is superb. I was using my Marantz cd63ki as a transport with the Audiolab qdac which sounded good. However with the cdt6000 the sound is a revelation. Space, air in the soundstage. Just makes you smile, makes cds sound superb.Absolute bargain. Staff st Plymouth were great. Able to demo the product to aid decision. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound, Superlative Build Quality This excellent CD transport has been at the top of my hi-fi shortlist for some time now and I'm delighted I got it. I couldn't afford the Naim player I was originally thinking about getting so opted for the next best thing- and this is it! Quick and easy to connect up and use. It's built like it's made from a block of iron, incredibly solid and sturdy construction at this price. The discs load smoothly into the slot and are swiftly accessed making them ready to play in an instant. Very clean, detailed but relaxing sound when paired with my Quad Vena II amp. I'm delighted with my purchase and full marks again to the lads at the Leicester shop for their helpful and enthusiastic service.
