”An outstanding DAC for the money”. ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2020 award-winner.

Audiophile sound quality for your smartphone* or laptop

No matter how good your headphones, the sound will always be let down by the low quality DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) and amp built into your smartphone or laptop. With the Chord Mojo you get a huge increase in quality on both fronts. The Mojo uses Chord's latest and specially developed digital technology for stunning levels of realism. The powerful amp drives even the toughest headphones, giving them the potential to sound their most expressive and dynamic.
*Microsoft Windows smartphones not compatible.

High Resolution audio compatible
The extremely high quality digital processor is compatible with a huge range of high resolution music formats. Capable of playing files from 32kHz to an incredible 768kHz and even DSD512, the Mojo doesn't just match its larger and more expensive rivals for compatibility, it beats them. The USB socket is compatible right up to 32-bit/768kHz, while the optical input still boosts an impressive 24-bit/192kHz file capability. In short, if you're in to Hi Res then the Mojo has all the processing power you could ask for.

Excellent connectivity
Although it's pocket-sized, that doesn't stop the Mojo from having excellent connectivity. As well as USB, you can input a digital signal via optical or coaxial (3.5mm) inputs. Thanks to the pair of headphone outputs fitted, two people can enjoy the music. You can even charge your mobile device via a second USB interface.

Aircraft-grade aluminium construction
Rather than using cheap plastic, the UK-built Mojo is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminium. This not only makes it great to hold but also extremely tough and durable as well as electrically shielded from outside sources of interference.

Intuitive colour coding
With its intuitive, colour changing buttons, the Mojo is a cinch to use. The power button changes colour dependent upon the file type used, ranging from red for 44kHz to white for DSD files. The volume lights also change colour as the level increases or decreases, making it easy to remember your favourite settings.

Hear just what your music and headphones are capable of, with the award-winning Chord Mojo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MObile JOy! I've had the Mojo a couple of weeks and I'm never going back. As a novice just getting into the hobby, I wanted to improve the sound of what I was already using without breaking the bank and I definitely made the right choice. Whenever you look into the best portable DAC's, the Mojo will almost always be on the list - and with good reason. The difference it's made to my music is incredible, opening up a whole new world for me. I love the portable size of the Mojo, the sturdy construction makes it feel like a quality product and the user interface is a little quirky, but I love it. If you're looking to improve the sound of you mobile phone or laptop, this is the perfect place to start.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lives up to hifi reviews Like switching a light on with HQ streaming files, great sound, good design, well built. Expensive but probably worth it, if you’re critical. Quality indicator LED confusing to start with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic sound, small, great compatibility I had been looking for a new DAC/headphone amp while extensively working from home - listening directly through the sound card on my Macbook was hurting my very soul. I've previously owned a couple of the FIIO portable DACs, but could never quite justify this. I'm glad I did though! + Crystal clear sound - couldn't want anything better for my use + Massive soundstage and excellent separation of instruments (noticeable step up from the FIIOs, even to me) + Not too unforgiving, even when listening to Spotify, or even some old MPS I found. + Sensible (small) volume increments mean you're not constantly adjusting, you can find the perfect level + Driverless support for Mac, and USB OTG for all the Android devices I've tried it with + Very portable - will just slip into your pocket Only negatives I can come up with: - unable to be powered from the USB connection, meaning you need a separate (powered) connection to keep it charged during the day if you're stationary - if I'm honest, for portability I'd prefer a longer, slimmer form factor (like the FIIOs) as they slip in a pocket more easily. However I really like the chunky feel. For reference - I've been using this with Grado SR325e headphones, I haven't had a chance to test it with my IEMs yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mojo: excellent portable DAC, can be fiddly I ordered the Chord Mojo portable DAC / headphone amp. on 30th March and it duly arrived on 2nd April as promised. Great service from Richer Sound. The Mojo makes a very significant difference to all music files via my iPad - even from MP3 files, but it really excels with streamed music from Tidal and files that are of CD quality or higher. I've always doubted being able to hear the difference above CD quality, (e.g. 24bit 96kHz or 192kHaz) but I really can - that really surprised me a lot. I have used the product with Shure SE535 IEM headphone and with a higher end Oppo PM1 planar magnetic headphone. Both sound great and you can really hear details in the music that you just miss listening to the iPad directly - the artists and recording teams handiwork is really brought out and the music is very absorbing / involving and most importantly, a joy to listen to. I'm not a HiFi buff so I won't talk about sound stage and treble, mid and bass responses etc. but I can see why this product is so highly regarded - it sounds great. I found the Shure headphones better when listening to the Mojo directly from it's headphone jack. I also used the Mojo as a DAC only and fed the line signal to an Oppo HA1 headphone amplifier with the PM1 headphones and the sound was at just another level - incredibly good. So the Mojo is great as a portable DAC/amp but clearly the amplifier can be improved (not surprising in something the size of a pack of cigarettes). Use it as a desk top DAC and a good headphone amplifier and headphones and it is amazing. I'd love to see if a much more expensive DAC could sound better. I haven't tried to use it as a DAC on my full HiFi system yet - that will be an interesting test. The only criticism I have is the familiar one of Chord products - sparse instructions and online support / FAQ that could do with improvement - Naim do this so well, perhaps Chord could take this as an example as they are real geniuses at the technical stuff. But overall, a very good product, amazing value and I am delighted I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chord Mojo I bought Chord Mojo DAC a few weeks ago, after ordering very easily over the phone, at a good price with a free hard case thrown in. It was delivered quickly and I was amazed at the improvement of the sound quality. Turns out I've been 'under-listening' for years. It also looks great and it not too large in the pocket. It can run a little warm but never gets hot.
