“All a pair of headphones can do is sound, look and feel great – and the B&W PX7s tick all three boxes.” ‘What Hi-Fi’ – 5 Star review. Tested at £350.

Flagship sound

As the flagship headphones from the company that’s world-famous for its audio products, the PX7s sound something special. Custom-designed, 43.6mm drive units are developed and tuned by the same team behind the £22,500 Diamond 800 speakers used as reference speakers the world over. This means you get sensational levels of detail and realism that others simply gloss over. The larger, over ear size also gives them the power to impress.

Keep the outside world out, with adaptive noise cancellation
Making sure you hear every drop of detail from the high resolution drivers, ANC (Adaptive Noise Cancelling) ensures an inky dark background. Whether you’re at a busy station or terminal or travelling by train, plane or coach, adaptive noise cancelation measures the background and cancels it out – letting you concentrate on the music.

Sleek style – race-car inspired
Just like high performance motorsport cars and bikes, the PX7 uses woven carbon fibre composite components. These ultra-strong arms give the PX7 headphones the perfect combination of light weight and strength. They also come with a storage case for protection when not in use.

Extra-long battery life
With up to 30 hours battery life, the PX7s have enough juice for a flight from London to San Francisco and back, with time to spare. What’s more, this is with Bluetooth and ANC activated, so you don’t have to go wired and passive to get this battery life. If you’re in a hurry, just 15 minutes of charge is enough for five hours playback.

Intelligent functions
They might be packed with technology, but that doesn’t make the PX7s difficult to use. In fact, they’re amongst the most user-friendly headphones in their class. Rather than using an array of fiddly buttons, the PX7 uses intuition. Lift an ear pad to hear what’s around, for example, and the music automatically stops. Put it back and music plays on.

Hear just what you’ve been missing out on, with the Bowers & Wilkins PX7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Sound Quality These are the first premium headphones I've bought and the step up feels amazing. The build quality, feel and presentation are all top notch. The sound quality is crystal clear with punchy well rounded bass (something I enjoy wearing headphones).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound Fundamentally you buy headphones for the sound quality. The Bowers and Wilkins PX7 provide it perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great design, and good sound I have have used these headphones daily for about a month. I predominantly use the headphone outside and for general phone calls. I love the design and build quality of these headphones. The way the cups can be moved outward makes them more comfortable to have on your shoulders when you need to speak to someone, and the noise cancelling is very good, and so is the battery life. Sound wise it is hard for me to fully recommend this £300+ headphone because i upgraded from a £50+ pair before this. I cant say how much better it is than a £100+ or £200+ set of headphones. They do sound very good however and I have noticed there are more components to my favourite songs that I could never hear before. However, i would not describe these headphones as very "Base-y" which means i am intending to get a set of in ear headphones to use for those types of song. A few things i would mention is that setting the noise cancelling to Auto can result in popping sounds that were quite alarming when i first heard them, and if you have big ears then the cups might be too small for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very crisp sound and decent base bought these last week and very happy I spent the extra money. Look and feel great noise cancelling is excellent and can be set high/med/low using app. Bluetooth connectivity is quick and easy. First time using a B&W product and extremely happy with them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound but niggles Of principal importance to me, the sound and fit are outstanding. Music is warm and balanced; and I can hear detail that I could not previously on my similarly priced Sennheiser and Bose headsets. The user friendly controls; and the snug and secure fit add to the enjoyment. Also, set-up, via the app, was easy following a firmware update. On the downside, I do not find the noise cancellation effective but no longer being a traveller, this is not a major concern as the quality of sound outweighs it. Also, I had to disable the Voice Prompt as it was randomly saying "Connected" or "Disconnected" when listening via cable - although the music was continuous. Having disabled it via the app, the music plays uninterrupted. I will look to address the root cause of this error with Richer Sounds and the manufacturer. Niggles and the workaround aside, I am very happy with the product so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sound out of the competition!! I have been reading lots of reviews before I even went to listen to few headphones. I was interested in Sony, Bose and Technics. I though that Bose was really good, Sony has best noise cancelling but for me it was all about the sound quality. Bose was best until I tried B&W!! Wow they are amazing!! Very well balanced and the features are great too with very long battery at the top of them. Highly recommend

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes but no but yes Difficult headphone to review. first week (after 25 hour burn in) they seemd like a Beats 'phone on expensive steroids. Big boomy bass, heavily digitised mids and a sharp piercing treble too often. if the honey voiced Norah Jones sounds sharp then that is one erratic treble. Also the pressure on the ear was pretty unbearable after 15 mins. Yet after a week's listening either they have settled or I am used to them. The bass has mellowed and tightened. the mids are more composed and the treble have lost their 'ouch'. Do they sound like a £350 wired 'phones? No they don't. But I find I reach for them when I want good enough sound with maximum wireless convenience and I want to be sure they clamp to the head and stay there. Not a home run by B and W but probably a solid third base.
