Good quality headphones at a good price
This is the second pair I have bought (as birthday presents for my daughters) and they are great-sounding, withstand being thrown into college bags, and the detachable lead is a great idea. Comes with a good protective pouch. We have bought other similarly-priced headphones in the past, and have not lasted 6 months.

Bought these to replace a knackered pair of B&W P3s. Now that I've settled in to the noticeably bassier sound I'm very happy with them: they're very comfortable (not so hot on the ears as I had heard), the sound is detailed and rich, and the design is sleeker than the images suggest. Quick delivery from Richer Sounds too was much appreciated. An excellent value pair of headphones for someone who cares about sound quality and design.

Wonderful sound
The AKG headphones were purchased to complement the addition of a Cyrus Soundkey DAC for my smartphone listening of a wide variety of music. In the few weeks I have owned these I have found them to be well built and importantly, have excelled in the music stakes. Currently they are tremendous value for money and would thoroughly recommend them

Great sound , fair price
I bought this only a couple of weeks back after reading positive reviews on various websites.
I was after a budget pair and wired ( I prefer sound quality over practicality ) so these seem to be ideal.
Sound clarity is very good , I've noticed sounds on tracks that I didn't know existed( I use Deezer hifi).
Only negative is that I'm still trying to get used to wearing them out and about( move around too much then they can start to slide off).

Very good sound, excellent value for money
I’ve had the AKG Y50 headphones for two now and they are still sounding better every day as they a worn in. They were a little underwhelming to begin with, but now the sound very good indeed. The sound is balanced with good separation and a good soundstage. The cups fit so snugly the Y50s are almost noise cancelling (although this leads to much reported ear warning effect of the Y50s) All this makes for very immersive listening with all genres.

Unbeatable sound and build quality for the price.
Anyone looking for a pair of hi-fi quality headphones for their morning commute really can't go wrong with these stylish beauties. I'm tempted to say there's no need to add the usual caveat '...for the price' as they compete in terms of sound and looks with headphones three times the
cost. High frequencies are handled with practically no sibilance, even at high volume, mids are warm and detailed and the bass is sufficiently prominent to please bass-heads without rattling your fillings loose. All this wrapped up in an extremely stylish package that, again, belies the sub £50 price tag. Richer Sounds have done it again!

Not good sound at all - avoid
I bought & returned these straight away swapped for sennheiser hd300s. Sound is mushy, no detail and the bass booms completely overpowering the rest of the music. They look the business but that's about it. No idea how these got a what hi-fi award, honestly. Avoid.

Great headphones. Great Value
Having been a fan on AKG headphones for years now, I was keen to upgrade my 13yr old from his tinny earbuds and bass-free Beats wannabes.
A trip to RS and a few questions later and we were sorted
Son amazed that the music sounds so different - clarity and bass were something he’d assumed had no place in music!
Very happy, but his younger brother also wants a pair!

Bought this around a week or 2 ago, great pair of headphones, work well with the DAC (sound key) that i bought, the overall quality is great.
Pros:
- The sound from the headphones is very clear, punchy rhythm and great/detailed bass.
- Fold/portable.
- they are small on-ear headphones not so much over ear.
Cons:
- They do get warm after a while.
- best headphones for under £100
These headphones have won awards for best portable on-ear headphones.

Decent budget cans
Sound quality is decent, and very little bleed from external noise. Good to get a universal cable, and the pouch is ok. Ears get quite warm after a while is then only minor negative, otherwise very comfortable.

Incredible!!!
I’ve had various headphones (cheap and expensive) but these little beauties, wow, incredible value for money. Now I know wireless is today’s thing and maybe I’m old skool, the detail, balance and bass in these AKG Y50’s just has to be heard. Everyone’s different so it’s just my opinion. Love ‘em!

Wonderful sound!

Impressive sound for the money
I bought these for my daily commute and I'm impressed. From a practical perspective they do a decent job of blocking out external noise and leakage from the headphones themselves is minimal. They collapse fairly well for storage and come with a neoprene style bag. However, more importantly they sound great, good detail with ample bass and pound for pound they definetly punch above their weight. Only slight issue is they make my ears get a bit hot, now we're in the winter months it's not such a bad thing, but in the summer it might be a bit uncomfortable. Still, at £59 they are a bargain.

Great price, great sound
Bought these as replacements for much loved pair of AKGs.
I use them everyday with my Fiio on my commute and the sound is great. Very comfortable fit and lovely on ear feel. The wired version have a detachable cable from the ‘phones giving assurance to idiots like me who keep catching the cable. The result is that when snagged, the cable pulls loose and can be simply reconnected. Brilliant!
