"Roksan is back on its A-game with the K3, which is a nothing short of a superb amp for the price."'What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine' 5-star review.

Generous power

With a power output of 140W per channel at 8 ohms, the Roksan K3 Amp has ample power for most speakers and room sizes. Such power brings several advantages: the ability to drive all types of speakers with ease - even hard to drive ones. There's little trouble in filling large rooms with clean, powerful sound and finally, even with average speakers in small to medium-sized rooms, a taut, dynamic sound with a great sense of realism.

Quality with quantity
Even with its generous power, the K3 is far from being just a one-trick pony. Featuring a symmetrical amplifier layout, high quality signal output relays and an improved power supply layout, the K3 also excels in terms of accuracy, detail and low noise. Whatever the type of music, the sound benefits from absolute clarity, broad sound staging and precise resolution.

Bluetooth apt-X
Thanks to a top quality built-in Bluetooth receiver, the Roksan Kandy K3 Amp makes the most of your digital music. Simply pair with your smartphone, tablet, laptop or compatible PC and you can wirelessly stream all your stored music, plus music services such as last.fm and Spotify. What's more, because the Roksan uses the top quality apt-X coding, it's possible to enjoy high-resolution audio files at the highest wire-free quality.

Comprehensive connections
For more traditional sources, the K3 features five line level inputs. In addition there's also a MM (Moving Magnet) phono stage for your turntable. Giving complete flexibility for future expansion, the K3 has both bypass inputs plus preamplifier outputs. This combination allows you to add a power amplifier for bi-amping at a later date, or use the K3 as part of a fully integrated front-amp within a home cinema system. A decent quality headphone output is also standard.

Superior build quality
A great step up in terms of both style and quality, the Roksan K3 is a much more sophisticated amp. Using a substantial and rigid new chassis, the K3 amplifier weighs in at a hefty 14kg. It's this mass that provides excellent damping against mechanical vibration, so reducing the chances of distortion still further. Roksan has also streamlined the design, giving the K3 a smarter appearance over the older models.

Enough power for even the most demanding speakers and rooms plus the quality and connectivity to match; the Roksan K3 Amplifier is a true class-leader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supreme sound It took me over a year to upgrade my amplifier, having so many award winning amplifiers to consider, and the hours reading through endless reviews. Finally the advice I receive from Jon, the store manager in Cardiff, guided me to the Roksan K3 Amplifier. Straight from the box, and after just a few minutes to setup, the sound was incredible, filling the room from wall to wall with detail and a huge soundstage, the like I had never experienced before. I have listened to my sound system every day for the past month going through my library of music without fatigue, and amazed at the details I had never heard before. I wish I had purchased it sooner, years ago. Thank you Richer Sounds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly Great I recently upgraded from a Cambridge CXA60 amp to the K3 to power my Monitor Audio Silver 6. The sound is awesome especially paired with the K3 DAC I have just bought. It brings real scale, muscle & detail and I now feel that I am getting the most out of my speakers. It's an absolute pleasure to listen to, across all genres of music. I have given only 4 stars but would love to give 5. I am not overwhelmed by the remote. When I turn on the amp first and turn the volume up, this changes the input instead. Is it supposed to do that and is that an amp or the remote issue? I can't say that the remote is very responsive either. It would also be nice if it had a standby like the Cambridge but I can deal with that. It would also be nice if I could change the mode via the remote control, which seems to have been skipped. It's a great piece of kit and I absolutely love the sound. Myself and my family listen to it constantly so it would be great if Roksan had nailed the functionality in the way they have nailed the sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taught, energetic sound (& fixed volume knob!) I bought this as an upgrade from a Cambridge audio 651a to use with my recently purchased monitor audio gold 300 speakers (for reference) after my second amplifier broke. The Bristol richer sounds shop kindly lent me their store version for a week or so while they ordered in a new one for me. This is a powerful, taught and detailed amplifier which adds musicality to any songs played without sounding too harsh (important when paired with ribbon tweeters). Haven't used the Bluetooth, so can't comment on that, but would definitely recommend to others. Perhaps most importantly I noted that reviews negatively comment on a "wobbly" volume knob which was indeed present on the store model I "borrowed". I can confirm that this appears to have been fixed on new models, as well as the addition of a minor cosmetic change, highlighting where the concealed power switch lies. So if that was your reason for not buying this... Don't worry about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inciteful presentation, great soundstage. Pleased with the K3. Only took off one star as the volume control is rather wobbly which lets down the otherwise excellent build. The lack of a balance control is a shame I feel given the odd room acoustics many people have. Great sound at the price point and the usual excellent service from RIcher Sounds Exeter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great sound, concerned about reliability I purchased this amp 10 months ago, and the sound quality is fantastic. However, the remote no longer turns the amp on or off - this is a problem with the amp itself, as I have been sent a replacement remote by Roksan. It has been kept in a smoke-free environment, in a hi-fi rack and dusted with a dry cloth once a week. After only 10 months use I did not expect to be finding faults with the item and I am concerned that this is a sign of things to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds good, looks good. I wish I'd traded up years ago. Excellent control over my Dali's, especially good sound when partnered with my new K3 CD player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Roksan K3 CD Player I purchased the above component in April. The sound quality is amazing! It truly has brought my compact discs to life, so much so, that it's emanating so much detail and nuances I never previously experienced before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound Brought my music collection to life. Anyone with a decent but not top-end hiifi system should audition this amp. You might be amazed by the improvement.I certainly was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all rounder Only a couple of weeks old but first impressions are of a solid, well built amplifier. The same applies to the remote control. The sound stage is very wide and fills the room. To my ears the sound is very open and extremely well balanced suitable for a wide range of music. Listening to Tori Amos' on Strange Little Girl gives the impression of her being in the room. The sound quality is consistent across all outputs including a very good moving magnet input. The Bluetooth connection works well and produces a fantastic performance for mp3 files. Strongly recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No compromise amplifier I visited the Maidstone branch of Richer Sounds, and was fortunate to have the simply brilliant Todd show me the ropes. I'd been to other hifi stores, inlcuding one named after a another local town in Kent (!), but the service and attention i received from Todd was absolutely staggering, from start to finish. Given that i was looking to spend between £2-£3k, his approach and consultative style was perfect for realising my requirements. He listened very attentively, assimilated and contributed and refined my thoughts. Ultimately, we settled on this Roxans, as I budget wasnt a major factor and the sound it produced, was to my ear, such that I didnt feel like I had 'settled'. I like to know that if I want to make a well informed purchase that I can do so with great advice and support, I shall be coming straight back whenever I need anything that Richer Sounds caters for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This amp is good, no it's not........... its fantastic I already have a kandy KA 1 L3 which was good but this is way better. I demoed, the K3, Arcam A39, Cambridge 851A and Caspian M2. In the shop I thought the A39 was for me, detailed open and with reasonable bass weight. Took it home and ran it for two weeks but oh dear. Yes it's detailed etc etc but the music had no texture or feeling for me. I popped my old Kandy on and the emotion and excitement are all back. Richer Sounds wrere brilliant and allowed me to exchange it for a new K3. Even before the amp had been run in it sounded superb, bass weight and control are way better than my old amp or the Arcam. Now a month on and it has opened up, the vocals are brilliant , gravelly voices are , well, gravelly sounding with loads of texture. Overall I would say it sounds more like the Caspian than the Kandy range, but that is no bad thing. Oh and it's actually 150 watts PC not 70! as advertised. Richer Sounds bent over backwards to help me and I cannot rate them highly enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good solid amp with striking looks and powerful sound. Demo'd the amp and cd player against the Audiolab 8300A and matching cd player at the Preston Branch recently, The Roksan kit blew the Audiolab out the water, sounding more powerful, with deeper base and more control over the whole range of music. However I expected it to sound a lot different than my Sony STR1050 AV amp connected to an Onkyo C7030, but you know what, the difference wasn't that great, The Roksan has a neutral sound so should be good for most styles of music, and after running for a few weeks, its opening up more, and where it does differ from my sony amp is the K3 has a tighter grip on the base with less boom at high volume. The remote control is awkward, you have to check its the correct way up as its the same shape either way round, and its slow to respond to commands, even with a new battery fitted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roksan K3 Amplifier The Roksan was the best amplifier that I heard - far better than the Arcam A19/29/39 which I auditioned. I can positively recommend for both the quality and power and drive it gives to the speaker fantastic drive. A 3D effect to the sound and a super low noise floor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stonking amplifier This amp actually produces 140watts/ channel 8 ohm which is huge, Richer sounds has it listed at only 70 watts which is incorrect. A huge dose of the high end at a bargain price. It has a mode that is -20db (feeble), but good if you're leaving it with the kids, thought something was wrong with it until I figured it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Transformed my system When my elderly Pioneer A400 amp finally died, I decided to go overboard on the update and invest in something made in the UK. I'm glad I did. It's a beautifully made bit of kit and the brushed aluminium fascia is a tactile delight. Even partnered with my old Rotel RCD965BX CD player and Tannoy floor standers the sound quality has been transformed with a level of clarity and detail I've never heard before (e.g. complex drum beats like Rage Against the Machine's Know Your Enemy is taut, focused and attacking). Even on subtle blues and classical tracks it reveals more detail and has tamed the slightly sharp treble of the Tannoys. The Bluetooth function also works well with an excellent range - much better quality than I expected given that it's not CD quality. My only nit pick is why is the Mode button RED when it's on and GREEN in standby? Green is for go, surely?! Overall it's a superb bit of British kit and if you don't like it, you clearly have something wrong with your ears...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra money, even then not that expensive. Upgraded from a previous purchase (Cambridge Azur) to the K3 after being kindly allowed a home audition for a few days by the very obliging team at the Eton branch. After a run in of abt 30 hours, the quality of this superior amplifier became really apparent and I was sold! Superb stereo separation & clarity. Bluetooth allows full internet & media streaming, although improved by the addition of an Arcam rBlink B/T /receiver. The Roksan will also expose inferior recordings, so (in my case anyway) some album-weeding may be required. A great match for my Monitor Audio Floorstanders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from superb amp once out the box I knew this was going to be a good amp the packaging was tidy and the control insruction book was easy to understand and well printed. the finish on this amp and the lay out was very sleek and un complicated this amp can sing there was plenty of power goining to tannoy precision 6.2s this amp has pure power and reveals every sound on the recording as it should be heard I will be looking out for the power amp if and when ones released

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean, detailed, well focused and relaxing sound. I was looking for a new amplifier that would reveal that little bit of detail plus a better defined bottom end that I felt my current amp was missing out on. What I didn't want to lose was the wide and well focused soundstage that placed the performers clearly in their places. This amplifier certainly gave a credible performance with only a slight softening of focus in what was a well defined soundstage. The Bluetooth capability (which I wasn't expecting too much of) turned out to be sonically more than adequate in my being able to enjoy ripped downloads of CD's I had purchased online and was waiting delivery of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch Amp Really enjoying this amp, it has plenty of power and brings out the detail. Needed it to drive B&W 685's which it does with ease - slight issue with assembly quality (screw-head sheared) but was easy to resolve. Little disappointed for a UK based company that the remote is made in Korea. and the facia in Germany, but other than that, its a brilliant bit of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Amp with superb sound quality Bought this to replace my 12 year old Music Fidelity & it has exceeded all my expectations. The sound is amazing adding detail I did not notice before & the base is controlled.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Roksan "buzz" I would love to be able to recommend this amplifier based on its wonderful sound. But there are too many questions about build quality. The first unit I received had a loose power inlet, and it buzzed very audibly through the speakers with the home theater bypass channel selected. This would not have been an issue if a proper set screw piece had been used and the unit had been properly grounded. With the replacement unit, the power inlet doesn't wobble (for now at least), but there's still a fainter version of the same hum via the HT input. As long as it doesn't get worse, I suppose I can live with it, but I don't much like the feeling of waiting to see if/when a problem with a brand new unit will get worse.
