For many years Audioquest has advocated solid-core rather than multi-strand cables. Electrical and magnetic interaction between strands in conventional cables can cause distortion, giving an unnatural edge to the sound and picture. Using Long-Grain Copper, the Audioquest Pearl gives a cleaner, clearer sound than regular cables.
Foamed polyethylene insulation
The Audioquest Pearl uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene as air absorbs next to no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. The result is reduced distortion for an even purer signal quality.
ARC compatible
All cables are directional, this is determined by painstakingly listening to every metal conductor used in the construction of the cable. Extra care is even taken to run the conductors dealing with the Audio Return Channel (ARC) in the opposite direction, for the best performance throughout.

Audio great, visuals good but focus poor
A very good cable but something wasn't quite right for me with the visuals. Read on..
Sound

On my fairly decent hifi setup the sound is wonderful, deep and engaging, noticeable improvement in depth and detail over the similarly priced "QED Performance Premium" or the "QED Classic HDMI-P" (now discontinued) cable I own.
Visuals
-------
Colours are off a little for me, too washed out in some scenes, slightly gaudy in others.
Motion control is a little off for me also. I felt more queasy (a subtle feeling involving eye tracking) with this than the QED cables.
Fine detail is better than both QED cables when a character is standing still but when the camera is tracking the image is slightly soft, subtle but enough for me to seek out what it was that I didn't like to find out what was bugging me.
Summary

A very good cable and none of the negatives would bother you necessarily unless you spotted something you didn't like (like me). And if you do, don't be shy to try others, they really do differ.

Lovely and helpful people
Lovely and helpful people. I needed a new television after eight years and spent many moments on the phone with the team at Swiss Cottage. I initially chose a cheaper TV which I thought would do only to find it was not for me. Without hesitation the team changed the television for me and gave me a small incentive to do so to make sure I was happy

Instant improvement..
I didn’t actually think that i would notice a difference between cables but this very nice quality HDMI from Audioquest gave an instant step up in the crispness to the picture with richer and brighter colours also, the cable it replaced was a standard free one supplied with boxes etc and i can honestly say its worth upgrading to one of these..very happy

Good quality
I was advised to buy this as I was purchasing a new 4K TV and 4K upscaling blu ray player. I wouldn’t have thought of it if I wasn’t advised by the guys a Richer sounds. The cable is great value and great quality. The alternatives in high street stores are expensive in comparison. Picture quality is on point and highly recommend.
