Richer Sounds exclusive model.

Enjoy genuine hi-fi sound quality but demand discreet style? Then take a look at the ground-breaking Cambridge Audio Minx system!

If you're in any doubt about the quality of this system then take a look at what the reviewers have been saying. "Well, Bose is about to get a sound thrashing from the British boys at Cambridge Audio, whose brand-new Minx is even smaller than Acoustimass - especially the subwoofer - and simply better. Much, much better." Jonathan Margolis, Financial Times. And, "To say we were impressed is a gross understatement." T3

Small yet mighty

It may be the smallest in the family of Minx subs but don't underestimate the power of the X200! Like the other Minx subs, the X201 uses unique Cambridge technology to produce a bass response that is both powerful and tuneful. At the heart of the X201 beats Cambridge Audio's sophisticated DSP (Digital Signal Processor). When combined with the digital amplifier, this provides exceptional bass from what is one of the world's smallest subwoofers. To maximise this advantage the bass cones are constructed of one-piece, aerospace grade aluminium.

One powered, two passive cones
Configured with a single, powered cone and twin passive cones, the X201 uses technology not before available at this price. Compared to the more conventional bass ports, you get a greatly enhanced bass response with far more detail and control. Although small, the X201 packs a mighty 200W from its active amplifier and offers gain, phase and crossover control for full control and integration with a complete Minx system.

Finished in special, scratch-resistant, premium automotive gloss black paint, the X201 is the perfect match for most hi-fi, home cinema and TV systems. Prepare to be impressed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value and performance & family friendly Needed a more family friendly 5.1 set-up and trying to declutter (i.e. remove some technology from view) the living area. The Minx speakers and subwoofer blend easily and are easily installed and the Sub disappears nicely. The performance as surround, center and sub is fine and fit for purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little gem I’d been wondering how to add warmth to a small system in my tiny Victorian tenement flat. I needed something that would add base at low volume and not boom through the walls. The Minx does just that. I now have a warm rounded sound and my neighbour... well, no complaints so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive sub woofer A white sub woofer is not always easy to find at a particular price point but this worked out very well and client was extremely pleased

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for it’s size. I’m using this for music and must say it’s great for dialling in a little more low end. I have a pair of Cambridge Audio sx60s wich are quite bass heavy anyway but needed the bass at the lower frequency to finish the sound nicely and this sub does the trick. If you dial in to much it sounds distorted but like I say I’m using it for a rounder full sound without wanting too much punch. If you like dance music and need that real thud then I would go for the x301. It’s well built and you can tell it’s made with quality material.Good customer service as always Thanks RS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy! The Minx201 exceeded all my expectations. I was hoping to be pleased, but it ticks all the boxes: Performance - adds the needed octave or so to the decent quality but very small speakers we have in the kitchen; compact – very appropriate for the size (and style) of the compact speakers it is supporting, integrates well – other than the extended response, you have to turn the sub off to demonstrate to the uninitiated that it’s actually working; integration – controls are sufficient to get seamless transition between the main speakers and the sub; grunt - enough to maintain the right acoustic balance when running at full tilt. Suspect I'm going to have to get some for the office where we have two more of these speakers But remember, this is a very small, if not one of the smallest, subs and so unlikely to generate the house shaking or gut wrenching levels of LF of larger subs, but boy is it effective and classy. NOTE: be sure to run the speaker in for several hours before making final position and set-up tweaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but good I had my doubts when I saw how small this was but it fills my fairly large room on half volume. It is used for home theatre not music except TV and YouTube. Won't rumble your insides but provides the Base presence I needed when my old, bigger sub broke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bang for your buck! Bought this to replace my tannoy sfx subwoofer and despite being half the size, easily beats its predecessor for full and punchy bass. After doing a fair bit of research decided that this was the perfect value replacement for my medium size lounge (5m2) and am definitely not disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a little monster!! I bought this Sub to complement my Cambridge Audio Minx 22 pair of stereo speakers and this sub made them come alive! Without a Sub, Minx 22 suffers a lot with low frequencies so this is a great complementary unit to pair with. I use these in a 4x4 small room but the sound is more than enough. For a 10x10 room, this might not be the case maybe (never tried indeed) but for a small to mid-sized rooms, this Sub is a perfect companion. It's looking great and taking very little space. I am driving these on Sony STR-DN1080 and set the crossover to Cambridge Audio's suggested place at the back on the Sub (check photos)
