Totally redesigned from the ground up, the Audiolab 8300A is a class-leading amplifier.

Improving on an industry leader

The Audiolab 8200A was one of the most highly acclaimed amps in its class with a first-class reputation for sound quality. Improving on this hasn't been easy for Audiolab, but with a complete ground up redesign by veteran amp designer Jan Ertner, they've managed to do just that.

Dual mono design for superb accuracy
At the heart of the Audiolab 8300A is a new dual mono circuit design. This means that both the left and right audio channels have their own circuitry. Interference between channels is drastically reduced giving superb stereo clarity and precision of sound. Other thoughtful design elements include a power supply that is placed as far away from the sensitive audio processors as possible - helping to reduce distortion.

More power
Delivering a punchy 75 watts per channel, the 8300A is capable of driving even the most difficult speakers to high levels. A high quality toroidal power transformer delivers not only powerful dynamics and effortless grunt, but also high efficiency and low noise.

Connect up your record deck using the built-in phono stage
With the vinyl revival in full swing, Audiolab have fitted the 8300A with a built-in phono stage. Unlike most of the competition it will accept both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridge inputs for full compatibility with all turntables.

Pre/power amp split versatility
Highly impressive in its own right, the 8300A also offers superb upgrade potential. Using pre/power split functions you can add either a higher quality power amp(s), such as the awesome Audiolab 8300MB or a superior pre-amp. The twin pre-outs are also handy for other applications, such as recording or connecting to an active subwoofer.

Balanced inputs for the ultimate connection
Along with the five line-level inputs, the 8300A features balanced XLR inputs. Matched to a compatible source, these give the ultimate connection with the highest level of resistance to electrical interference.

Smooth new style
With its routed aluminium dials and recessed power switch, the 8300A looks purer and cleaner in design. A choice of silver or black, blasted aluminium finishes means that the amp will fit in with a wide range of other hi-fi components. A new display makes it easy to check the amps' status.

With the Audiolab 8300A the best just got better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Amp I’m using the Audiolab with an M-Dac, connected via XLR, and feeding it High Def audio from Amazon Unlimited. I have the amp connected to some B&W 606 speakers. Together everything sounds absolutely great, the M-DAC also brings the added benefit of a headphone socket. As others have said the sound is warm and very detailed. I certainly can’t imagine changing any of these components any time soon, as they all work so well together. I’m extremely glad I found some real kit to show off the quality of the B&W speakers. If you’re looking for an amp at this price point definitely give this one a go, equally try pairing up the DAC if you’re going to be using a digital source.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Audilab 8300 well done well done I have bought this 8300 amp in the middle of Feb so it been fairly used since then. After a few weeks, I'm pretty sure, I surpassed at least 200h of listening and can say with confidence the performance developed, and soundstage and overall sonic experience become more refined. it has a kick and has a nice warm filling which is perfect for my beginner lp collection. All in all Audio lab 8300A has fantastic Build Quality = Excellent for the money. Sound Quality = Detailed, muscular sound. Value for Money= With a price of £900 this is excellent value. Pros: Great musicality and detail Minimalist good looks and ease of use Well built in phono stage with mm/mc options Remote works well and easy to use Cons: No headphone output, but with so many good external units on the market, I don’t see this being a problem. WELL DONE WELL DONE

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sounding amp with minimal controls. Just replaced my 25 year old 8000A with the new 8300A, which sounds crisper and clearer! Still has phono and powers 2 sets of speakers, but do miss the headphone socket, tone controls and switchable speaker set. Less controls gives better sound? If this 8300A lasts as long as the original, I shall be really pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super amplifier with great style. Love the understated style of this amp but the real joy is how effortless it performs, the Audiolab 8300 adds nothing to the recording that’s not on the recording I find myself listen at a louder level because there is no distortion, another feature of this amp is connectivity out with the RCA cables and in with digital. This amp punches way above its price level on listening tests it performed better than amps costing nearly twice the £899 before discount and no hum from the toroidal transformer so I’m over the moon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed. I had the Audiolab 8000A for 32 years and thought maybe now is the time for an upgrade and again went for an Audiolab. Very pleased I did. Great sound and I am now looking forward to revisiting my music library. Very impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good AB Amplifier, great set of Analogue features Stereo Imagine is good, with great bass control. The sound is clear and very accurate, but not as full bodied as some rivals. The phono stage is good enough not to warrant an external phono stage. The Bi-Wiring options is good for my B&W Speakers as it added a bit more sparkle to the top end. The only downside to this amp is the lack of a headphone jack, and it takes a while to warm up before delivering its best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks Richer Cheltenham. Having recently bought a new turntable and speakers it was time for a new amp to do them justice. The staff at Richer Sounds Cheltenham are all helpful and service is always good, however Richard was an absolute star on this occasion, allowing me to listen to four amplifiers "blind", so as not to be influenced by price/appearance. Although not the most expensive amplifier auditioned, the punchy bass and overall sound made me keep coming back to "amp 2" (Audiolab) as the pick of the bunch. Really happy with the sound and will be looking to acquire the matching CD and power amp (controlled from one well constructed remote) Thanks for your patience Richard and co @ R.S. Cheltenham, this customer is extremely happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound Does appear to be very musical amp for playing CD’s, streaming music, watch TV and Movies. Benefits from giving a bit of volume to get the best sound. Paired with Tannoy Revolution floorstanders and other comparable separates. Definitely sounds like a step up from the Audiolab 8200 I have used and liked for the last five years (and have reused in the second system). Impressive amp.
