Everything I expect from audiolab
There was a problem with the USB input to the unit that was delivered. After a short conversation with customer services a replacement was arranged which I collected from my nearest shop the following day.
The replacement has been trouble free and produces excellent sound. This is true when I play via my desk top pc (either through USB or via Bluetooth). I have also streamed via my I pad (using the USB connection) and the sound is very good but not quite as rich as when playing through my desktop.

This surprised me with what it could do. Brilliant
I found this astonishing not having caught up on streaming before. It has transformed my listening to BBC Radio 3 programmes after the event located somewhere in the dreaded BBC Sounds!

Great Portable DAC
I bought this Audiolab DAC after reading many online reviews. I wanted something for my home setup that could travel if need be. With it's multiple inputs it covers most use cases. My first unit had a slight issue with the PC input but Dave at Richer Sounds was really helpful and the replacement works faultlessly, great service!

Good sound, with a number of useful connections.
There is a clear audio upgrade over the built-in laptop sound card, especially in the upper mid-range. While the M-DAC Mini is not pocket side, it easily fits in my laptop bag and takes very little space on my desk.
The built in battery means there is no need to carry the power supply, making life easier. But this is not a unit to be used on the move.
This unit is also ideal for upgrading an old analogue system that requires a DAC, due to the line outs.
