”Comfortable over-ears with sound of the highest quality.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2020 award-winner.

Tesla technology - an electric force

Inside these headphones lies a powerful force - Tesla technology. The Tesla name comes from the unit used to measure magnetic flux density, and the magnetic field within the Amiron's transducers' is around twice the strength of other headphones. The main advantage of this powerful magnetic field is that it allows for the use of smaller, lighter voice coils.

Class-leading sound quality
Thanks to Tesla technology, the Beyerdynamic Amiron headphones are amongst the most accurate, transparent and detailed headphones in their class. If you value the absolute truth in sound above exaggerated bass or treble then these are the headphones for you.

Supreme comfort
As you'd expect from this leading headphone brand, listening comfort is first-rate. Large micro fibre velour earpads offer a contact that's not just soft but, unlike leather and leatherette free from the potential to stick to your skin. The pads also pivot, offering even pressure around your ears.

Precision build quality
Built in Germany, the Amirons are every bit as well built as you could hope for. With extensive use of aluminium in the construction, these headphones aren't just comparatively light, they're also built to last.

Beautifully made and even better sounding, the Beyerdynamic Amirons are headphones on top form.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound and comfortable for a long listen! Bought these in error as had intended to go for Bluetooth version which has closed back but found these so good ) What HiFi award) That I decided to keep them as they do NOT significantly leak sound as review stated. I also have Bose Quiet Comfort 11 which are good (and noise canceling) but the Breyer pair are more detailed and a crisper sound I reckon. Four stars as they are not Bluetooth (but are cheaper anyway!) Also bought a Chord PolyMojo -great stuff when you’ve sorted it out but the new instructions enable. Usual flexible service from Mr Richer and his teams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supreme comfort, superb sound I wanted to upgrade my cans, and having picked up a Beyerdynamic A20 headphone amp at a very silly (low price), I decided to match them with a pair of BD headphones. After reading some online reviews, I decided to go for the Amiron Homes, espcially as RS had a great money-off deal going on them at the time. As ever, delivery prompt and hassle-free, and I settled down to enjoy my new purchase. These are fantastic headphones – the sound is detailed, open, airy and natural. Very refined (the bass goes deep without being boomy, treble is sharp but never harsh) and hugely enoyable, whether you're using an analogue or digital source. Perhaps most remarklable is just how comfortable these 'phones are – you can barely feel them on, which makes for excellent extented listening. One caveat: these are open backed cans, so they leak a lot of sound, so you'll be disturbing anyone else in the room, but I tend to use these for late-night lisening, when everyone else has gone to bed. The build quality is top-notch too. Best headphones I've ever owned, a superb match for the A20 amp and excellent value for money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Richer Sounds on top form despite product issues. I purchased the Bayerdynamic Amiron Home headphones and Chord Mojo as as usual, telesales were brilliant. Unfortunately the first pair arrived with a popping driver, second pair had a distorted aluminium frame but the third pair have been fantastic. Bayerdynamic clearly need to up their quality control but buying with RS gives great confidence. The Chord Mojo has been sublime from day 1. Thanks guys. Ash

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and great sounding headphones I bought these headphones a week or two ago and have been using them with an Oppo HA-1 headphone amp and various sources (Denon CD/Oppo Universal player/Technics turntable etc.) The sound has been consistently clear, detailed and full of texture with a fairly wide soundstage. Treble has air and sparkle, the midrange has a lovely solid "real" feel, and the bass is firm and clear (i.e. bass notes don't just disappear into a vague rumble, they are clear and tuneful) without being overwhelming. All in a really well thought out pair of headphones, particularly when you factor in how extremely comfortable they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning upgrade - excellent advice - amazing... If you are a lover of all things musical genre wise and are not particularly fond of endless thumping bass. If you relish and enjoy the mids and the highs in-equal measure with magnificent depth and soundstage for headphones this inexpensive compared to the highest cost operators. These are the wired open back headphones for you. If you are all about that bass, a quick equaliser tweak and it’s good to go here too... from the hi horns of John Barry to the atmosphere of a Elbow, Led Zep, Ray Charles, run DMC, Bjorne, The 1975, Catherine Jenkins - all knockout. You do need a decent amp to get the absolute best but iphone without a Dac still good, popped in then Dragonfly....boom! Thank you Richer Sounds for the advice, my ears love you !!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable, great sound, poor construction Pros - very comfortable, great neutral / slightly warm sound - perfect for all day listening (paired with Chord Mojo - they need a decent source to get the best out of them). Good although not deep / immersive bass. Great detail. Very occasional spike in trebles. Cons - they creak! Headcups creak when moving your head / jaw. Tried a couple of pairs. And the cables do exhibit microphonics - could be better quality. Was a hard call, in the end for me, sat at desk occasionally moving around, had to sadly go back for a refund. (Richer Sounds were great with exchange / refund process).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Detailed sound, good build quality. Bought to connect to my Cambridge Audio DAC, music is notably more detailed and overall a nicer balance across the frequency range than my previous headphones (Bayer Dynamic DT231). The Bass seemed much louder at first compared to what I'm used to, but this is probably just a change for the better that I need to get used to. The difference in sound is maybe not as much as I'd hoped given the price, but they do sound good. It makes me realise what good value the DT231s are as I've had them about 20 years!.
