If you've a hi-fi that doesn't allow you to plug in a turntable, then you'll need the Btech BT26 phono preamp.

Free your record collection

Simply plug your turntable in one end, your hi-fi the other and let the BT26 equalise the signal to standard Aux level. As a nice bonus, the Btech BT26 also amplifies microphones. Suitable for dynamic or condenser mics, stereo or twin monos, the BT26 will handle them all. Featuring a strong, steel case, the BT26 is durable and well shielded from electrical interference, for low levels of background noise.

If you need to spin some vinyl, phono pre-amps don't get much better value than this.

Brand Btech
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does the job..............however........... It does exactly what it should, however, I feel for a little more investment better could be had. I feel really bad skitting about a product which not only works, is cheap enough but just falls a little bit short. It will get your turntable up and running but is a touch lightweight and flimsy on build quality and sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PreAmp I bought this a few weeks ago and it’s helping me reconnect with my vinyl collection, scratches included. Joyous and the new preamp is excellent value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect link for new tuner-amp Using an old record player with my new tuner/amp needed a pre-amp as the Yamaha I bought had no built in facilities. This Btech unit was just plug & play, and worked perfectly. Great advice from the sales team.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for getting an old turntable back into use. This enabled me to start using my turntable with a midi system, for a reasonable price. Mains feedback was an issue at first. Reading the reviews, it seems that not everyone experiences this problem and it is easily resolved by attaching the turntable earth wire to the body of the preamp using one of the screws. It would be useful if this suggestion was included on the packaging or at the time of sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for money It is the cheapist of pre amps but it does work fine and the service was great .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sounds reproduction Having read the reviews I was sceptical as to whether I would get mains hum. I didn't. The sound reproduction is fantastic, My wife also has a wireless microphone and we are now able to test this by using the mic input using this pre-amp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Increased Sound Excellant value for money! Not the prettiest of products but has increased the volume and quality of my vinyl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin! Bought in the hope it would eliminate hum I got from a cheap ebay pre-amp. It did!! Very happy. Great crisp sound for my old vinyl collection. Used with a 1970’s Garrard Zero 100SB

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for money good sound Great unit, Simple to install (requires an earth. Fasten to lid screw) used extensively over the past few weeks, it's been a pleasure to listen to my LPs collection again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed I purchased this preamp to link my turntable to my mini stereo. It's simple to connect up and does a very good job, and is also very good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Complaints Found my old NAD turntable and vinyl when moving house recently. Bought a little Denon DM40 and some matched Monitor Audio speakers. This little beauty sits in the middle and joins the new and the old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job I bought this to enable continued use of my NAD turntable with my new Cambridge ONE, and it performs well enough for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pre amp Does everything it should and it is value for money
Date published: 2017-12-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from does exactly what you expect purchased 2 weeks ago - now listening to my 41 year old Trio turntable again - the warmth of vinyl never fails to impress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job really well These days modern amps are not supplied with dedicated inputs for playing LP's so this pre-amp at just £25 fits the bill perfectly. Advice from Richer Sounds sugested that even if an amp did have the facility of a dedicated imput this Btech MM Phono Pre Amp would improve on it certainly as far as my new Denon deck was concerned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple but effective preamp Bought this to connect a turntable to a hi fi system. Good price and performs well with no distortion. Easy to set up and use, small and compact. Only slight downside is no on / off switch on the unit itself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This is a very basic pre amp which is not good value for money. Beware there is no provision for connecting an earth lead. Returned the next day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it promises The old seperates with phono input to amp have been relegated to the tip after decades of good service to be replaced by a mini system for my small study but with my 35 year old technics turntable and a couple of meters of LPs tugging at my heartstrings and surviving the cull. I must say that I was sceptical at price tag of a mere £25 preamp would do the job, but I have to say that following the previous reviews I felt it was a no lose gamble for this meagre investment. As ever with Richer Sounds my faith is consistent. This preamp does the job hooked up to my Denon RCD-M41 (also available at Richer as a standalone or bundled with various soeakers) only slightly reduced volume vis a vis the integrated cd/radio sources and par performance vis a vis Bluetooth inputs. My ear isn't what it once was but I cannot be critical of performance as this preamp stil delivers that vinyl warmth I still enjoy so much. Budget solution to downsizing my kit. NO BRAINER.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It does the Job but... I bought this after acquiring a second hand Cambridge azur 540A amp that had no phono stage. It does what it says on the box and is easy to set up. However, the sound quality is decidedly average and not what I wanted for my Rega RP1/Ortofon Super OM10 turntable. However, If you have acquired one of the cheap plastic turntables that are flooding the market due to the rebirth of vinyl and just want to play your records then it should be fine for the job, otherwise invest in a better phono stage or just get an amp with a dedicated phono stage (which in my humble opinion would be much better and convenient). Why Cambridge made amps without a phono stage is beyond me if they are supposed to be hifi? First class Richer Sounds on-line home delivery service though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Basic Product I needed a pre amp to use with my turntable and this does what is required. To prevent back ground hum I connected the turntable ground cable to one of the chassis screws and it gives excellent sound quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bargain amp. We purchased a Project Genie record player a couple of years ago and was running it through a Denon audio and Monitor speakers,it worked ok but we wanted a simpler set-up.It was only whilst in conversation with Antony in RS. In Hull that he recommended a pre-amp which we purchased recently. The B-tech amp is ideal for us.Uncomplicated and easy set up.And cheap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be made better with an integral on/off switch. This item is basically good but the lack of an integral on/off switch does make it something of a problem to use, having to disconnect it from the mains supply whenever it is used, rather than leave it permanently on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun With A Yamaha KX 580 Cassette Deck Most cassette deck manufacturers stopped providing microphone inputs in the early 1990s. Once this pre-amp was connected to the Yamaha's line in sockets. I plugged in two mono microphones, and, my wife and I launched into our rendering of Paul Anka's "Hey Paula". We think we might need more practice before sending a cassette tape to Richer Unsigned. The RIAA equalisation circuit wasn't a patch on the MM/MC phono stage of a Cambridge Audio C75 pre-amp. If you are serious about vinyl, try stretching your budget beyond this pre-amp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what you'd expect Not a complicated product...if you've a turntable and you want to plug into an AV amp or similar with no pre-amp, this will do the job. Great reproduction of sound. Slightly annoying that there's no on-off switch but for the price, I can live with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product does exactly what it was designed for, and does it well Initially I considered getting a new hi-fi amplifier specifically to allow me to hear my old vinyl collection, but I decided to check with the experts and found this pre-amp. It was simple to set up, and after following the advice in other reviews to attach the turntable earth wire using one of the screws on the side of the metal casing in order to avoid earth loop hum, it has performed excellently (and at a very good price).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant pre amp and value for money Was at the point of buying a new deck for my vinyl collection as my 30 year old Kenwood deck had no preamp and the new Pioneer didn't have phono inputs just aux/line in. Saw this and thought for £25 would give it a go. Ordered on line and had the usual great service from RS. Plugged in and connected to power source, played a 7" disc. Great sound, no hum or background noise that I could hear. Inputs on the front and outputs on the rear. Please note no phono leads are supplied. Can honestly say I'm happy with this purchase.
