”The AXA35 is a great budget buy and you’ll struggle to find a more confident-sounding stereo amp for the money.”– ‘What Hi-Fi’ – 5 Star review. Tested at £299

“Sound quality is excellent, and its minimalist features set makes it a delight to use.” - cnet.com

Power up

Boasting 35 watts per channel, the AXA35 is 40% more powerful than the smaller AXA25. This not only means it’s better at filling larger rooms but also in delivering a richer, more dynamic sound at lower volumes.

A step-up in quality
As well as being more powerful, the AXA35 also improves internal component quality, giving improved sonic detail and realism with less distortion. The toroidal power transformer and separate pre/power amp circuit boards are features usually only found in much more expensive amplifiers, making the AXA35 something of a giant-slayer.

Convenient features
Although the AXA35 is dedicated to giving the best sound possible, this doesn’t mean it’s left out handy features. Over the more basic AXA25 model, you’ll find the addition of a headphone socket and a system remote control that also operates matching Cambridge Audio CD players and streamers. The digital display makes it easy to check the amp’s operating status.

Your whole system connected – including a turntable
Featuring a phono input (for turntable with MM cartridge), the AXA35 is the perfect amp for a vinyl based system. It doesn’t end here, though. Four RCA phono inputs are ideal for a CD player, streamer, games console and even your TV set-top box. There’s also a 3.5mm AUX input at the front that’s handy for temporary connections – such as an MP3 player or smartphone. The audio output lets you take a signal out to an external processor or recorder.

Power your music player or Bluetooth receiver
Next to the audio inputs you’ll also find a handy USB power socket. This is perfect for powering Bluetooth receivers or smart audio streaming devices, such as the Google Chromecast Audio, without having to find another spare mains socket.

Sleek new style
The entire Cambridge AX Series has a fresh new look that catches the eye. The Lunar Grey front panel contrasts with the black top and sides, making it ‘pop’ into crisp focus. The minimalist button count give a timeless style that’s typical of the Cambridge Audio brand. The teardrop profile with wedge foot mirrors the CX Series, showing a strong family link between ranges.

Take your stereo sound to the next level, with the Cambridge Audio AXA35.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit Had this a couple of weeks now and it is just great. Bi-wired it to my speakers and it produces a rich sound with great clarify across the whole sound spectrum. Great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp sound with Classic build quality This British built Amplifier is everything its described as. Powerful, yet sensitive sound quality oozes through a unit that belies its affordability. Linked to a Cambridge AXC25 CD player, replaying music from my collection that ranges mid range classical guitar that springs into life to Multi layered Prog rock recordings of the 1970's with crisp electric guitar solos , Hammond organ and definitive drum phrases. Wired to a great set of Wharfedale Diamond 220's, the result is a superb quality combination that many will fail to achieve with a seriously higher budget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Great British Sound I do not need high power (why should I share my music with neighbours) but do want the best sound, without breaking the bank. The Cambridge AXA35 is well built, runs cool so will probably last for ever but best of all sounds musical. The snap of snare drums, the tinkle of triangles...it's all there. Extended listening does not tire, you forget the equipment and listen to the music. Connected to my aging floor standers it sounds superb. Great amplifier. Well done and thank you Cambridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up amplifier. I gave this 5 stars because it precisely fulfilled my needs - an easy to use amplifier as a gift to a professional musician with absolutely no technical knowledge whatsoever. Technical specs are perfectly adequate and he can plug in his turntable without resort to a preamplifier. The remote control was an extra he was not expecting and is appreciated. He is absolutely delighted with the sound from this amp so,all in all I would recommend it. this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound and a great price I bought this to replace my NAD3020i that finally died after nearly 30 years. I was looking for a budget amp and found this one well reviewed everywhere and so far it's living up to those recommendations. Lovely intimate sound and instrument placement for Tracy Chapman, hard driving drums and guitars from Arctic Monkeys and good orchestral rendering on Bach Brandenburg concertos. Also the aux in on the front is very handy for digital versions of vinyl I can't quickly find!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great amp, better service from Richer Sounds I bought this amp to replace a 20 year old Pioneer. The works and sounds great, however the remote isn't working. I emailed Richer sounds and they quickly responded with some trouble shooting, which didn't work so they have arranged a new one from the manufacturer for me with no hassle at all. Great service RS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing kit. I bought my amp a couple of weeks back, Laurie from richer sounds did me a quote and had a look for what was best for me and he was amazing, very helpful and didn’t waste any time looking for what I was after. It all works perfectly together with the turntable and speakers he sorted out for me too. Couldn’t be happier with it all. Great company and great people. Thank you again Laurie.
