Richer Sounds exclusive model.
A vital component for ceiling speakers, the Cambridge FH20 Firehood helps resist the spread of fire and reduces sound leakage.
The Cambridge FH20 is designed to suit speakers with cone diameters of around 8" - 10" (200 - 255mm).
Designed to cover the rear of ceiling speakers, this fire hood is required by legislation for many new buildings. Whether legally required or not, we would recommend them as a safety precaution. Using a fire hood helps resist the spread of fire through the various floors of a building.
A further advantage of this hood is that it prevents the leakage of sound upwards - potentially into another property.
It's a requirement for all speakers that are installed below any habitable rooms and escape routes to be treated. A standard two storey house for example will require all the ground floor speaker locations to have hoods fitted. If a house has three floors the regulations require hoods to be fitted on the ground and first floor speakers.

Keeps the speakers cleanI bought these instead of building boxes for the speakers in the loft to keep the dust and damp out.
If I had seen them in the shop first, I probably wouldn't have bought them, I think they are very expensive considering the simple construction and material

Not just against fire.Had a leak from my ceiling and the fire hood was also waterproof and stopped the speaker from getting damaged.
