High Colour Light Output for stunning brightness and contrast

With its High Colour Light Output and 3LCD technology, the Epson EH-TW9400 delivers stunning realism. Its contrast ratio is 1,200,000:1 – six times higher than the model below – which gives incredible depth and detail, even in the darkest areas of the picture. The 2600 lumens brightness figure is also up on the model below. Combined with HDR compatibility and PRO-UHD, it gives this projector a whole new level of detail and realism.

PRO-UHD 4K enhanced for life-like detail
PRO-UHD 4K enhanced takes native Full HD (1080p) resolution and uses sophisticated 4K Enhancement processing allows the EH-TW9400 to double its frame rate, creating crisp and clear images. Although not strictly a 4K projector, it gives it a much more detailed, denser image than an equivalent Full HD version. Compatible with HDCP2.2 HDMI, it also supports UHD 4K streaming services from providers such as Netflix.

HDR10 and HLG compatible
HDR10 offers stunning colour realism, brighter white and detail in the darkest shadows. Now incorporated into most movies and video games, you can see exactly what the producer intended – in lifelike detail. HLG is another high definition format, now used in broadcasting – making this projector ideal for getting the best from sports events and documentaries, too.

The professional's choice – with ISF Certification
With ISF calibration, the Epson EH-TW9400 offers the chance to reproduce professional-grade colour accuracy. It also comes with wide ranging compatibility with home automation systems for easy synergy. Compatible with AMX, Creston and Control4 home automation systems, the EH-TW9400 easily becomes part of a stunning home entertainment system.

Smoother fast-moving motion
Frame interpolation and Detail Enhancement are both on hand to provide sharper and smoother motion pictures and bags of detail, for greater clarity. For fast moving sports events and action movies, this makes all the difference in your viewing enjoyment.

Fully motorised optics for the perfect image
Featuring lens shift as standard, installing the EH-TW9400 is a breeze. The ability to physically move the lens by up to 96% in the vertical plain and 47% in the horizontal means the EH-TW9400 can be fitted in trickier locations as well as enabling a wider choice of screen options. Powered zoom and focus help frame and focus the image to perfection.

10 pre-set settings for the perfect image
It’s easy to watch films in the right aspect ratio; just store your ten favourite formats for selection at any time at the touch of a button. Its professional ISF calibration tools can be used for further control over the individual settings.

See every movie, TV show and game, the best it can be, with the Epson EH-TW9400.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic projector From all my experience, research, trials and demos nothing gets close to the all round performance of this projector. Great to be able to watch uhd movies and they look amazing. Hd content has never looked better. Being able to adjust the iris is a killer feature to get the overall lumin level just how I like it. Only other adjust is the HDR adjustment that works best for me on 3 so far. So pleased and the richer sounds extended warranty swung my purchase their way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent customer service I bought an Epson TW9400 projector which is amazing thanks to Andy from Leicester helping out with the room dimensions and calculations and Paul from Bath giving me a fantastic deal which I could not say no to. Guys from Milton Keynes esp Gilbert and Chris have been helpful too. Overall very satisfied with the product and the team involved with my purchase. Thankyou Richer sounds! Imran

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning picture , very good contrast and features I upgraded my old optoma 25e to Epson 9400 The lens memory and automatic shift between aspect ratio is the main differentiator between the consumer grade optoma models to Epson. The contrast of the projector is very good even though my room is not a batcave and has limited black cloth treatment above the screen (2ft long). In many dark scenes the contrast plays a critical role ,whereas in bright scene blacks look very black(even the old Optoma handles black well in bright scenes. The 4k upscaling is a big step up on a very large image (120'' or more). It's a light canon very bright to allow it to perform well with HDR. colours are accurate and skin tones are wonderful. Integrated well with a Yamaha 3050 receiver without major connectivity issues using standard hdmi 2.0 10m cable. Overall it's a great machine and the build quality is superb. Compared to an OLED LG65 c8 the sharpness and details are not as good yet the contrast will never be as good as the projected screen is white. But l definitelybprefer to watch movies with the Epson as it is hard to beat a 150'' image

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible picture in untreated room I had not realised how important motorised lens shift and focus would be. The high brightness and iris give very impressive results in an untreated room with white walls. The TW-9400 accepted 60p HDR signals perfectly, unlike the 7400 model. Brightness and fan noise is also improved over the 7400. SDR content looks incredible. There is a bit of ghosting while watching 3D content, so that is the only point I would improve.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good picture, disappointing black levels, noisy. Projector is mounted above my head in the Living room ceiling. Walls and ceiling are all painted in brilliant white. Windows are covered. Projecting 92" image onto a Sapphire fixed frame screen. Using Denon 5.1.2 amp. Black levels from this projector did not impress me. Colour accuracy is excellent. Projector can receive 4K signals and will "enhance" it by using pixel shifting technology. I never saw a "true 4K" image from a "true 4K" projector so cannot comment on whether its enhancement is better or worse than "true 4K" but it seems sharper than 1080p. It also takes HDR signals, and I tested this with several HDR sources I downloaded from the web. HDR looks better than non-HDR but it's not a OLED screen so forget getting the same vibrancy and contract - it is physically impossible with a projector. But better than not having it. Also, where can you get a 92" 4K HDR OLED display for £2,500? Can't do. This is as good as you get with HDR on a big screen. It's using 3 1080p LCD panels with shifting technology to achieve a 4K resolution. It's a lamp projector so does take time to startup but much less than my old Optoma HD142X and once it does, getting to full brightness is much quicker. I like: - Motorised everything - lens cover, zoom, horizontal shifting, vertical shifting (all with memory). - Colour accuracy - Robustness - it is solidly built. - Remote control - all functions on a nice and chunky remote, and unlike the Optoma remote that was laggy, unresponsive and flimsy the only on the Epson works perfectly. If you're using Harmony remotes like the Elite bear in mind the integration isn't great and lots of keys missing but that's not Epson's fault. I really don't like: - Aligning the 3 LCD panels is a nightmare, if you don't then it gives you the same impression of having a "rainbow" effect that plagues DLP projectors, one of the reasons I moved to this model from my Optoma DLP was to avoid the rainbow effect but due to panel alignment being extremely tricky to get right I still see funny edges on white text over black background. - Noise. This was supposed to be more silent than the Optoma it is replacing, in reality there is fan noise AND when the 4K enhancement is on, also a very annoying fast pulsating hum from the optical shifter. The auto iris also makes noise. - Auto iris makes transitions from dark to light scenes very unnatural. - Has to be in a cave to reach its full potential. It's a home projector but at a midrange price point so how can Epson expect people buying it to have a fully dark room? People who have £50,000 to spend on a proper cinema experience with a properly built dark room won't be buying this, they will be buying a Sony native 4K model. It is disappointing if you just want to add it to your living room. Curtains alone won't do. - Cost. This is at the time of writing £2,500+/- so unacceptable to me to have the noise and not very good black levels unless in a properly dark room. Having said all that, I am still keeping it, because there does not seem to be anything better at this price range. This is the best projector you can get for the price. Further, the motorised functions with memory are super versatile. If you can afford more, get something else. Native 4K JVCs seem to be a great choice.
